Is he capable?

Aiden walked down the road with Mia as they headed back to the mall. He was lost in thought, recalling how Mia had avoided answering his nerve-wracking question. She had diverted his attention with another topic. How hard could it have been for her to reply?

Why do they all find it difficult to differentiate who is good and who is bad? Why can't they decide not to kill this person by personal choice and not by the opinion of the masses?

Sensing the sudden change in atmosphere during their discussion, Aiden let it slide and didn't press further. But that only tightened the string tied to his heart, drawing it closer to his task as he couldn't find a worthy excuse not to do it.

"We're here," Aiden said, stopping by his car. He looked to his side and saw Mia, spaced out as if lost in her world.

"Mia…Mia…" he called, shaking her shoulder a little to get her attention. It worked, and she quickly regained her composure.
