CHAPTER 78 Too Late

  Kassandra's POV

  At the realization, I hiccuped. Right! It does indeed appear red! The eyes outside my apartment unit are the same as this!

  But when I continued to approach, the figure backed off and vanished into the night. A piece of paper that had been left behind caught my attention as it fluttered softly in the wind. I picked it up and unfolded its contents with shaky hands.

  A warning was etched onto the paper's surface and was written in large, menacing strokes that looked back at me. The message hinted to deceit and Clayden's genuine motives. It said that he was taking advantage of our relationship and utilizing me for his personal ends.

  As I read the words, doubt crept into my head. My heart was split between devotion and the prospect of betrayal. After then, the paper went on to confirm the fragments of my memories—the memories of Thea, Clayden's past lover, and the tragic fate that befell her at the hands of Clayden's own father.
