CHAPTER 36 It's Enough

  Xander's POV

"Oh, damn," I exclaimed, my fingers tightening around her delicate chin as her gaze dropped.

  "I am sorry,"

"Do you really think it's a good idea for me to do that?" she let out a soft, barely audible whisper, her voice tinged with a heavy sense of disappointment. I can sense the fear coursing through her veins.

I inhaled a long, slow breath, feeling the air fill my lungs, before uttering a resolute, "No-"

"Xander, I implore you, reveal to me the truth." she rudely cut me off mid-sentence.

"Absolutely not," I vehemently replied to her. "The power rests in your hands. I'm aware that she continuously inflicts pain upon you, and I refuse to allow her to continue doing so. It deeply concerns me, and I can't help but wonder about your relationship with her. I am sorry for asking that bothering question." I extended my hand towards her, hoping for a warm reception, but instead, she swiftly pivoted away, her back now facing me.
