"What?" My words stumbled and tripped over each other, as if caught in a tangled web of uncertainty.

In an instant, his face lit up with a radiant smile, and he released his grip on me.

"Don't be a fool," he said, his voice dripping with disdain.

"It has a profound effect on me. You had me believing that you had gracefully danced away from my life, leaving me to ponder your absence. Did you misunderstand me?" His laughter echoes through the room, a sinister sound that sends shivers down my spine. It's filled with malice, a cruel melody that seems to be directed at me, mocking my every move.

"You're addressing me as if I'm some sort of anomaly, Alpha," I exclaimed. "Why won't you engage in a meaningful conversation with me, even just once?'

"Can you do it without causing me any pain?" I added.

His eyes locked onto mine, a mix of curiosity and uncertainty swirling within them.
