CHAPTER 90 I Need to Leave

  Solaine's POV

  I trailed behind him as he made his way to his office. I can't help but scan my surroundings, constantly hoping to catch a glimpse of Selene.

  "What's the purpose of our presence in this place?" I inquired. "Is this yet another scheme for Selene to-"

  "You're aware of my unwavering commitment to stopping that-"

  "Seems like you didn't do anything," I interrupted, fully aware of the fresh pain Selene had caused me.

  "Sorry," he said.

  I allowed him to observe me. I didn't reply.

  "That's great," I replied to him with a smile.

  "Denver mentioned your state of being," He clenched his jaw and locked his gaze with mine - those eyes have a gentle shade of blue.

  "Oh, yeah, I am indeed-"

  "Don't deceive me," Our bond is so strong that I feel completely immobilized. I gaze at the door, attempting to evade him, but he firmly grasps my chin, compelling me to meet his gaze.

  "Why are you subjecting me to this?" I inquired.
