CHAPTER 30 The Pains of the Past

  DAVID'S POV

Inside the car, I was lost in thoughts as I remembered Caroline Blake. She still looked gorgeous in her pink dress.

I wondered why I haven't been able to get the pain of our break up out of my head and heart.

I guess the pain still lingered deeply.

I wanted to go eat before, but after this whole thing, I decided that it was best that I head to a bar and get myself something to drink and forget about all that happened today.

So I drove to the nearest bar to the apartment I was in and headed into the bar.

The bartender greeted me as I walked to the bar.

"What can I get you?" he asked.

  "I'll have a beer." I said.

"Sure. Is there a particular brand you want?" he asked.

  "Heineken, please." I replied.

The bartender went to get my beer and came back with it in a few minutes.

I sipped the beer and it felt cool going down my throat.

As I sat there sipping the beer, I thought about the events of the day again.
