Wren's POV
Adalyn and I were stunned, but she stood up and stared angrily at the man. "That was a pretty rude thing that you did there. Are you going to pay for that drink?"
I had yet to move as I couldn't understand what the man was doing.
He looked at Adalyn and smiled, as if to reassure her.
Then he turned to the bartender and ordered a low-alcohol drink for me, "Witch's special drink will give you an awful hangover if you drink too much. Have a regular one."
He handed me the drink and looked at Adalyn again, "Do you want one?"
"No," Adalyn replied awkwardly, "I don't drink and I don't think my friend should drink that either."
"I did nothing to the drink. You would have seen me if I did. I am just trying to help your friend here. I know the goal here is to get drunk, but I think you would want her to not get sick before the night is over, right?"
I closed my eyes, feeling a little numb on my cheeks. Every time I drank, I would turn red like this.
