CHAPTER 48

My vision was hazy, my senses were muddled by rage, and all I could see was anger and red. I didn't fight it; I let my beast take control of me as I sprang into action, releasing myself from General Gabriel's grip and pouncing on Eric with all of my might, but before I could strike him, he pushed Lara out of the way, and my body was met with his sharp claw, slicing across my skin and bringing me to the ground.

When I fell on the moist ground, my beast turned into my body, revealing the big wound across my waist despite the vest I was wearing. The pelting rain was like salt on my wound, prompting me to cry in agony.

My skin was slashed, and blood was oozing from the open wound. I tried to stop the bleeding by putting my palm against it, but the wound was too large for my small hands to cover, and I could only scream in agony from the pain.
