CHAPTER 53

  "Am I interrupting your conversation?" Emelia's high-pitched voice distracted me from my thoughts as both Caesar and I turned to look at her. Upon noticing her presence in the kitchen, the servants instantly said their greetings to her and scrambled closer towards her.

   

   

   

  They stood a few feet away from her with their heads bowed, awaiting her instructions.

   

   

   

  "You can leave." She ordered them with a wave of her hands, and they all walked out of the kitchen.

   

   

   

  "I was in your room," Emelia said.

   

   

   

  "Oh"

   

   

   

  "I was searching to see how you were doing, but I'm glad to see that you're doing great now," Emelia said with a small smile, but her smile was quick to fade as she shot Caesar a death glare.
