CHAPTER 10 Troubles

  I didn't know what to do, but I knew that I had to confront him.

  "Eden, we need to talk," I said, my voice shaking slightly.

  He looked at me, his expression guarded. "What's the matter, Ellissa?"

  I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what I was about to say. "I know what you're planning," I said, "And I can't be a part of it."

  Eden's face changed, his eyes narrowed, and his voice was low. "What are you talking about, Ellissa? I don't know what you're referring to."

  I felt a pang of despair in my chest. Eden was lying to me, and I knew it. "Don't lie to me, Eden. I heard everything. You're planning an attack on the neighboring pack, and I won't stand for it."

  Eden's eyes bore into mine, and for a moment, I wasn't sure what he was going to do. But then his expression softened, and he reached out to take my hand.
