CHAPTER 104

  Elissa's POV

  Memory flash to that day

As I cautiously approached the flickering light of the witch's fire, a mixture of trepidation and curiosity swirled within me. The dense branches overhead seemed to cast eerie shadows, amplifying the mystique of the secluded forest clearing. With each step, I held my breath, unsure of what awaited me.

As I drew nearer, I noticed the witch, her back turned towards me, tending to the dancing flames. Her long, black cloak billowed around her like a shroud, concealing her face from view. She seemed oblivious to my presence as she continued her work, muttering incantations under her breath.

Finally, unable to contain my curiosity any longer, I cleared my throat and spoke, my voice trembling slightly. "Excuse me, witch," I said tentatively, "I couldn't help but notice that you. Were you expecting me?"
