CHAPTER 143

  Stefan

"Congratulations, Stefan!" one of my guests shook my hand. I forced a smile. "I must say, I never thought you'd separate from Kara. I thought you both loved each other and were in love, but marriage is like that. One gets married and then regrets it because the relationship doesn't work out. I'm glad you've found a woman like Sara. She's good," he smiled. "It's good that you've moved on from Kara. Or maybe she moved on from you. I don't know how the story unfolded. But I heard Kara is coming to the party today. I didn't know she and your brother were together! Who would've thought Kara would end up engaged to your brother? Doesn't it bother you?"

I wanted to punch him. The guest was part of Sara's family. I met him a few years ago. Each of his words was destructive. He had no idea how he made me feel. He touched the wound in my heart a thousand times. But smiling has been my only weapon to keep people from realizing my feelings.
