Chapter 7- Ancient Star

After getting to her hostel, Angel sat cross-legged on her bed. Her room was a four man room which means that there were two double bunks.

Angel was on the down bunk and her three roommates were all out. Tife, who stayed above her had a prayer meeting. Joy's bed was opposite Angel and was out with her boyfriend.

Ifeoma went for dance practice. Ifeoma was Joy's bunkmate and stayed on top.

And so Angel was all alone and free from her nosy, comic roommates. If they were around, Angel would not be able to finish her food in one piece or she would end up listening to a gossip till her food becomes cold.

Angel put her food aside and reached out for her laptop which is always stationed in-between the space between the wall and her pillow on her bed.

She opened it and waited for it to load for a while before opening webnovel to continue from where she stopped.

ANCIENT STAR

My dear audience, this was the first thing that shocked me. Yes, it is me again — the wisp of an ancient star.

This love story is like no other my short life had seen, ofcourse as a real star not a ghost. I have lived longer as a ghost than a star...very sad but true.

In the nuptial chambers, Yin Su was filled with so many thoughts and questions that she drank the wedding wine absentmindedly.

Fanglie seemed to ignore her puzzled look and led her back to the bed. "Don't move, my wife," he said and carefully removed all the hairpins on her head.

After wards, he sat next to her. "Furen, I have dreamt of this day several times," Fanglie said, placing her hand into his.

Yin Su pulled her hand back as she inhaled the scent of strong wine from him. After years of traveling and drinking wine, Yin Su couldn't get drunk so easily.

"Fanglie, are you drunk?" Yin Su asked, her voice as soft as clouds. If he was drunk, it certainly didn't seem so.

"Drunk? I am drunk in love with you, Susu," Fanglie whispered, closing in the distance between them.

Yin Su held her breath and used her hand to stop him. "Fanglie, tell me the truth, you are not blind."

Fanglie tilted his head and smirked, "I am blind but not blind, why? Are you shocked?"

He grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her towards himself. Yin Su was taken aback, when did this gentleman, Fanglie become a rogue.

"Fanglie, let me go!" Yin Su struggled to pull away but Fanglie held her in his embrace.

"Susu, I did so much to find you... Finally, I have found you and made you my lovely woman!" Fanglie said, his voice calm yet excited.

"That year, those bandits returned early in the morning. You were sleeping so peacefully, I didn't want them to enter the cave and lured them away. When I returned, you were no longer there."

Yin Su stopped struggling and listened to his words. Why should she believe him? But if he truly left her then why did he spend so much effort to find her.

"Who exactly are you?" Yin Su thought, leaning against his chest and allowing herself to be held.

His body scent was so familiar yet unfamiliar. Just that night had changed her life. That night, she lost and gained something.

"Fanglie, you had so many people at different cities to direct me to you in the capital, how did you know that I would search for you?"

Fanglie fell back unto the bed with her still in his arms. He pulled back and laid on his back. Yin Su sat up straight immediately, adjusting her hair and clothes.

Although, he didn't seem drunk, he was definitely drunk. She leaned towards him, "Fanglie? Fanglie?"

Without making a sound, the third young master stared at the ceiling as if remembering something then he smiled.

It was the most beautiful smile Yin Su had ever seen. "I could not forget you, I searched for you for six years in jianghu under the pretext of finding a cure for my illness and finally, I found you."

Fanglie raised his head slightly and looked at her, "My wife, come here." With those words, Fanglie playfully pulled Yin Su to him to her surprise.

The following morning, Yin Su woke up with a certain person holding her tightly. She could remember the events of night before clearly and how Fanglie could see when he was supposed to be blind.

Yin Su shifted and pulled herself away from his embrace. She sat up and stretched. Yesterday night, she had used up a lot of energy to remove Fanglie's outer clothes and position him on the bed properly.

At least, let it be convincing that they spent the night well. Fanglie woke up soon after and sat up straight.

Yin Su had dressed up and was backing Fanglie when she heard his voice.

"Furen, you are awake," Fanglie held his head because it hurt.

Yin Su turned around, "You are awake, I have something..."

Her voice trailed off when she saw his eyes. His vision was unfocused like a blind person again. Yin Su was confused, did she see wrongly the night before?

Was he acting all this while?

"Third Young Madame, Third Young Master." Wan Li's soft voice was heard from outside.

Yin Su pushed her thoughts behind and assisted Fanglie up, dressing him up properly before allowing Wan Li to come in.

Wan Li informed them that they would need to go to the main hall soon to greet the family. Bi huo came in after a while and assisted Fanglie to take a bath.

It remained Wan Li and Yin Su in the room. Wan Li smiled and walked to the bedsheet to adjust the clothing.

Soon her royal highness would send her servant to check the stain on the sheet to confirm her mistress chastity.

Wan Li wanted to adjust the bedsheet so that it would be obvious enough.

Yin Su paid no attention to what Wan Li was doing, deep in thoughts. Was Fanglie blind or not blind? Did he have a double personality?

"Wan Li, come here," Yin Su called out but heard no response.

She turned around and saw Wan Li's white face, staring at the blank white bedsheet.

"Wan Li, what is wrong?" Yin Su called out again.

Without thinking, Wan Li pulled out an hairpin from her tied up hair and pierced her finger ruthlessly.

Yin Su was shocked, "Wan Li, what are you...?"

Before she could complete her words, Wan Li placed her finger over the sheets and let her blood drop.

That was when it dawned on Yin Su that Wan Li was trying to protect her. Wan Li pulled her hand back and pressed her finger against her lips before looking at Yin Su.

"Third Young Madam, don't worry, everything is fine now," Wan Li smiled calmly.

Yin Su walked up to her and took her hand, "Wan Li, why would you go to such lengths to protect my image?"

Wan Li shook her head, "Madam, it is nothing. From the day I was appointed to be your dowry maid, I have chosen to live and die with you because you have not taken advantage of me but treated me well."

Yin Su was very much shocked. Did such good and loyal people exist?

"Madam, if you fall then I fall because I am your person," Wan Li added.

Yin Su released Wan Li's hand and turned her back against her. "Alright, if that is it, I, Yin Su would never forget your kindness and would repay you."

Yin Su turned around back and placed something in Wan Li's hand. It was a small white jade carved as a flower.

"This is for you."

Wan Li looked down and was surprised. Immediately, she went on her knees, "Young Madam, this is too much, I cannot accept..."

Yin Su held her and pulled her up, "The people of jianghu has a clear distinction between good and evil and always repay kindness and grievances."

"Since you have sworn loyalty to me, I will also trust and take care of you," Yin Su said.

Even though Yin Su didn't have her martial art skills again, she still had some things to bargain in trouble.

Wan Li smiled softly and tucked the pendant into her belt, "Young Madam, let us get you dressed up."

Yin Su nodded and smiled back.
