Chapter 16: New Structure

Chapter 16: New Structure

As night enveloped the world, everything seemed to become dark. Casually, with his hands in his pockets, Theo walked further. The nights were indeed truly calming, full of peace and solitude...

"No! Leave me!"

Eh?

Ah, I see...

And as usual, some people had to disturb the peace and beauty of the night. Just as things were getting calmer and nicer...

Theo couldn't help but sigh as he looked at the group from the corner of his eyes. It seemed as though three guys were trying to gang up on a girl... They were out of sight, pressing her to the wall of one of the apartments.

Theo's initial reaction was to just walk away. He didn't want to get involved in such a mess and ruin the night.

Unfortunately...

She looks somewhat similar to Lena...

Haa...

As he thought of his sister, Theo couldn't help but clench his fist tightly. The image of a small girl trying to protect him appeared, covering him and defending his small body from all those inhuman hits. Those days of pain...

Haa...

Why am I like this?

At this rate every single girl in this world might look like her...

Sigh...

He couldn't help but ponder as Theo tightened his hoodie and removed his glasses, keeping it inside his pocket. One of the men instantly noticed Theo's figure approaching them.

"Brat, get out of here. We're feeling generous, so get lost."

Instead of listening to them, he continued his approach. Theo was trying his best to appear intimidating with his posture while simultaneously using every bit of knowledge he had received from the "Acting Classes"—the extra ones which could be attended on weekends.

'I should try to reason with them first, right?'

"Errm, don't the bunch of y'all think that this is akin to digging your grave?"

"What?"

It was just as expected. All that came from his mouth were random noises. He was too nervous too speak.

Theo instantly slapped himself. Finally his lips parted.

"The law has a special place known as prison for bugs like you."

"Hee?" They instantly burst into a fit of laughter after they heard his words.

"A young lawyer, ain't ya?" His voice had finally come out, unfortunately it was laced with a large amount of nervousness.

"Well, let's see if they can do sh*t."

"You—" Theo had assessed the situation. There was no point in trying to reason with these brain-dead people.

A whistling sound reverberated as he launched a punch straight towards the nearest man. The next second he felt his hand hitting an arm. The man had blocked the attack, but Theo's morale wasn't down as he instantly rushed sideways and launched another punch.

The girl pinned to the wall instantly bit the man while pushing him as she dashed away from there.

"Look at what you have done!" One of them exclaimed as he punched Theo, causing him to lose balance.

"Look at this amateur brat, trying to start a street fight." Those two men couldn't help but chuckle as they looked at Theo, who appeared extremely pitiful.

However, the third man, who had blocked his punch, remained silent. He looked at his trembling arm, slowly pulling the sleeve up. Indeed, he wasn't mistaken. The skin around the area had turned red, a bit swollen...

A second later, he once again looked forward. The brat had stood up, tough on his legs, his gaze scanning all of them one by one. Slowly, he raised both his hands near his face...

Twenty minutes later...

"It's here! We have to go, quic—"

She froze as she looked down the alleyway.

Those three men were on the floor, one of them still screaming in pain. His leg had turned to an unnatural angle, and a few of his teeth were knocked out of his jaw. The other two were knocked out, their condition looking much worse than that of the conscious man. At least they were unconscious...

Looking at their condition, some people would actually start to feel sorry for them...

*yawn*

Eden yawned, trying to release all his fatigue. After stretching for quite a few seconds, he took out the key. With a click, the door opened, revealing the simple room that lay behind. Removing his shoes, Eden entered and sat on the chair. Even though it was quite late at night, he strangely lacked the urge to sleep.

Looking at Hugie, who was deep asleep, Eden almost immediately noticed the can of beer.

So this is how we're going to do this now, eh? Fine, fine, you hypocrite.

Quickly, he walked towards the chair and jumped on it, sinking into the cushion. He took out the palm-sized notepad, re-reading the lyrics.

Draft, eh?

Eden smiled as he applied force on the notepad, tearing the pages.

Argh... Throwing the pages to the ground, he started to massage his forehead. A wave of headache was coming towards him.

Have I finally gone insane?

Giving a few final rubs to his temples, Eden stood up, grabbing the pieces of paper, and stuck them to the wall near the computer with the help of sellotape. There was no point in being upset...

This was something quite common in the music industry, quite common for those who aspired to be composers. After all, it was only through failure that one could truly achieve success...

Grabbing a highlighter colored red, he started highlighting the sections that needed a lot of attention while highlighting the areas that needed lesser attention with yellow. Finally, the ones that were really acceptable were highlighted with green and blue.

And in the end, it turned out most of the parts needed to be replaced... The structure of the entire song needed to be changed...

Now this is really giving me a massive headache...

At this point, he had already started ripping a few small papers from the wall, crushing them, and throwing them away. Grabbing another pen, he began penning the tune and lyrics. Simultaneously, he also started working on the computer, editing the file.

The song will be divided into three parts...

Too inspired, you say?

Pretty good?

Hindering the potential?

Just a draft?

Haa... Don't f*ck with me!!!
