Library

He knocked twice on the door before entering and spoke to Yuan Wei.

"Greetings, Father," Ling Tian said, bowing slightly in respect as he stepped into the study.

Yuan Wei, who was reading some scrolls, looked up to see his son standing there. He smiled warmly and asked,

"Why are you looking for me after training? I thought you would go and look for your little sister after finishing your training."

Ling Tian returned the smile, though it quickly turned serious.

"I needed to discuss something with you, Father. There are matters about my cultivation, and our family's future depends on it as well."

Yuan Wei's expression became curious, and he asked thoughtfully,

"Sit down, Tian'er. Tell me what's on your mind."

Ling Tian took a seat and looked at his father intently.

"So, have I told you that I was cultivating side professions as well in the Divine Radiance Realm?"

Yuan Wei's eyes widened in surprise at his son's revelation.

Not only was Ling Tian a cultivation bigshot, but he was also proficient in the sub-professions. After recovering from his shock, he asked,

"You mean you mastered side professions too? That's incredible, Tian'er. What kind of side professions are we talking about?"

Ling Tian nodded with a smug grin on his face.

"Yes, Father. I was proficient in alchemy, array formations, artifact crafting, and a lot more. These skills were crucial in my previous life, and I believe they can greatly benefit our family now."

Yuan Wei leaned forward, his curiosity piqued. "Alchemy, arrays, artifact crafting, and a lot more you say... Those are incredibly valuable skills. How do you plan to integrate them into your cultivation now?"

"I want to use these skills to strengthen our family's position," Ling Tian explained.

"With alchemy, I can create powerful pills and elixirs to enhance our cultivation and health. Array formations can protect our estate and amplify our cultivation grounds. Artifact crafting will allow us to equip our family members with superior weapons and tools and the other various sub-professions are not yet useful for us."

Yuan Wei's expression grew thoughtful as he considered his son's words.

"That sounds like a well-rounded plan, Tian'er. But we must be cautious. Such knowledge and power can attract unwanted attention. We need to ensure our family's safety while we grow stronger."

Ling Tian strike while the iron was hot as he spoke about his goal for saying all this after hyping up his father so much.

"So the reason why I came here was to browse through all the books related to side professions which we can find here. I won't focus on cultivation until I have learned all the basic knowledge we can find on the sub-professions. I need to check if all the knowledge that I have from the other realm applies here or not to make a good plan for my future cultivation."

He paused, allowing his father to digest his words, and then continued.

"I need a comprehensive understanding to ensure there are no gaps in my knowledge. This way, I can adapt and integrate the techniques from my past life effectively."

Yuan Wei nodded thoughtfully, taking in his son's request.

"That's a good approach for your current situation, Tian'er. Mastering these skills will give you a significant advantage compared to your peers. But as I said, we must be cautious. Knowledge of such magnitude can attract unwanted attention, even within our own circles."

Ling Tian appreciated his father's concern.

"I understand, Father. I'll proceed with caution and ensure our family's safety. I promise I won't rush and will take the time to build a solid foundation."

Yuan Wei stood up and walked over to a nearby shelf, pulling out a key.

"Come with me," he said, gesturing for Ling Tian to follow. "I'll show you the section of our library dedicated to these professions."

They walked down a hallway adorned with more family portraits and artifacts, arriving at a large, ornate door. Yuan Wei unlocked it and led Ling Tian inside.

The room was filled with rows upon rows of books and scrolls, the air thick with the scent of aged paper and ink.

"Here you will find texts on alchemy, array, formations, and blacksmithing, among other subjects, But I have the most books about alchemy since I'm an alchemist myself."

Yuan Wei explained.

"Take your time to study them thoroughly. If you need any help or guidance, don't hesitate to ask."

Ling Tian gazed at the vast collection and thought to himself,

'It will take years for me to finish reading all these with my mortal cultivation. It's a good thing that the thing I'm least lacking right now is time.'

"I will, Father. Thank you for giving me access to this knowledge. I promise to make the most of it."

Yuan Wei placed a hand on Ling Tian's shoulder, a proud look in his eyes.

"I have no doubt you will, Tian'er. Our family's future is in capable hands with you. Remember, patience and persistence are key. Don't rush, and always strive for your own survival. You are not alone; we will always be waiting for you if you ever decide to leave by yourself."

Ling Tian nodded his head firmly and said to his father,

"I understand, Father. I'll dedicate myself to cultivation after confirming my knowledge about this world's sub-profession system."

With that, Ling Tian began his study, delving into the wealth of knowledge before him. The library was a treasure trove of information, each book and scroll offering a piece of the puzzle he needed to master the sub-professions.

He started with the basics, reviewing fundamental principles and techniques in alchemy, array formations, and artifact crafting.

The hours flew by as he immersed himself in the texts, his mind absorbing the intricate details and comparing them with the knowledge from his past life.

The data was nearly identical to what he remembered, but he still had to check all the relevant data to make sure of it.

'Most of the things are similar to what I remembered from my past life, the quality of the metals, the properties of herbs, etc. But I still need to read all of the available knowledge to make sure of it. After all, the names of some herbs and some other materials were different in this world so I have to read all of it to know about them.'

Occasionally, he found discrepancies and took careful notes, ensuring he could reconcile the differences. The room around him seemed to fade away as he focused entirely on his studies, driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to excel.

Days turned into weeks as Ling Tian continued his rigorous study routine. He would wake up early, train his body, and refine his qi, then spend the rest of the day in the library, poring over the books and scrolls.

He would also spend some time each day playing with Xin'er so she won't feel lonely.

His progress was steady, and he could feel his understanding deepening with each passing day.

His family noticed the change in him, the way he carried himself with more confidence and determination after he regained his memories. Xin'er would often peek into the library, watching her brother with wide-eyed admiration.

His parents provided support, ensuring he had everything he needed to continue his studies without interruption.
