Not in a million years

Zoren, Mint, and Penny looked around at their surroundings, full of tall grasses and trees. The main clearing, where the gates stood, guarded a huge compound inside. And here they were, on their bicycles, as if they had lost their way.

But alas, that wasn't the case.

This was their destination.

That building.

The place where Slater and Benjamin were possibly taken.

"This is as far as we can go with these bikes," Mint said quietly, casting a look at the couple. "And this is as far as the two of you can go. It's dangerous there, and I can't let you get any closer."

Mint felt her pockets out of habit. Much to her dismay, she realized she was still wearing that high-collared dress.

"Damn it!" she muttered through gritted teeth, unbuttoning her collar. "No wonder I felt like I was being choked."
