The Lost Princess

Barbara blinked, momentarily stunned. "Guard? What do you mean?" she asked, her voice hoarse with surprise.

Flora's gaze remained unwavering, her expression unreadable. "Master Kaisar has instructed me to stay with you. For your safety. Wherever you go, I will accompany you!"

Barbara's mind raced. "I don't need a guard," she protested, crossing her arms in defiance.

Flora didn't respond, her silver eyes simply locking onto Barbara's with an intensity that made her skin prickle. She seemed a bit familiar and somehow had seen her before, but could not place where.

"Master Kaisar insists, but if you disagree then the lady should talk with her husband," Flora said again, her tone cold and final.

Flora was unshaken, completely stoic. Barbara's words fell into the air, and Flora stepped stood there, not waiting to move.
