Stepping into the main entrance of the academy, the students saw the front view up close. The front stairway leads to the main hall; with six huge pillars holding the enormous roof. The doors were big with double handles from each side, painted with signal-red color. Piers walked forward from the stairs approaching the door. He held the handle of the door while humming a song in his head demonstrating by moving his hands in the air.
* Ummm...boss Slater, what do you think will happen this year in the academy? * Piers asked expectantly.
The man named Slater shrugged his shoulders and he said, * Piers... get your head in your duty and less on the academy. That's their business! * His responses made Piers nod his head while turning around.* Yes sir! * He made a military salute to Slater who rolled his eyes at Piers dumb acts and Piers started walking forward approaching the door. * Alright gang! Feast your eyes on these... Impressive right? *
The doors into the grand hall was opened wide for them to see. The vast and grand interior; the splendid hall was painted in a mixed color filled with vibrant and grandeur. A single flight of stairs heading upwards towards the top floor and a double hallway at each side.
* Now gang, we would be taking the stairs which leads to the "Hall of Grandeur". If you may know... it was named so from its splendid construction, along with it being the center of the academy! * Piers walked towards the stairs; pointing at the hallways and informing them where it leads to, though that wasn't their focus for now. Piers kept on blabbering about the construction and long history tagged to the academy, he was filled with stories both related and unrelated to the tour. Soon they took the last step into the Hall of Grandeur.
The presence at the hall was a bliss amidst the plenty trauma they experienced from Piers unnecessary stories. The site made many of them exclaim in awe from its splendid design and craftsmanship. How the sun's rays poured through the roof awed each of them; the roof was made from dark aluminum material still the abundant sun's light present in the hall was very intriguing! Looking at it, one could say the presence of a chandelier won't be needed here.
* Welcome... to the Hall of Grandeur! * Acting all dramatic and comically, he ran towards the center of the hall and stretched out both his hand. Welcoming them into the hall; like he wasn't the one who led them here!
The gray marbled floor with tall pillars at various edges of this floor coupled with a few flower vases at different spots and lots of illustrious paintings hung on the walls, making the place more dreamy. Piers stood there bathing in its beauty. * Back then when I arrived here for the first time. I was like all of you present here now, cheer up... there are many more...* He kept his act up.
* Piers. Piers... Piers * Slater called out to him frantically trying to reach him. Having his back from the congregation, Piers didn't notice the presence of a new figure amidst them.
* Cough! Cough! * Two series of consecutive coughing sounds were made from behind Piers which made him stiff while standing straight without moving an inch. Hearing the voice which he didn't expect to hear. * Pierson... I think that's enough of your display! You may leave now. Since I would like to meet this batch of the freshmen! * The figure said in segue, with an air of strictness laced in her words. Piers slowly turned with a guilty look on his face and made an awkward smile. * Sure...Head Griffin! * Piers said acknowledging her presence. Together with Slater they both prostrated in reverence to the woman before departing from the hall.
Along with their departure was how the hall fell into silence. The only sound being made in the hall was the woman's footsteps clipping on the floor while walking towards the front of the hall. Mrs Griffin stood still for minutes observing the students from Lower willows. The freshmen also noted down some of her features; like her teal-blue hair and navy blue suit and a long skirt. One striking personality that stood out mostly was her no nonsense attitude from the look she gave them. She was very strict.
* Well I guess it's part of fate that we meet today, even after spending considerable hours in a meeting with the other heads of the academy.... I am Mrs Griffin. Head of admission and students affair.! And yes all of your interns went through my personal supervisor. * She said with indifference in her tone.
Mrs Griffin carried on with her words.
* You all might have been given admission here! But disregard the rules and I would show you to the front gates. You all would be having a formal orientation by the Head mistress of the academy tomorrow and I expect you all to be punctual. Not that you won't find it in your personal assigned letters... I would love to give you all an earful of the rules and regulations here, but for convenience I won't! Giving you all this moment to fully settle into the academy. * Mrs Griffin cast her gaze of them and said.
* Alright now, let's get you all settled at your individual dorms. * Head Griffin said jamming her hands together to prompt haste with a straightened posture while moving her hands behind her and she said.
* Now you all repeat after me! FIND AND SEEKING, LOCATE MY LUGGAGE!!! * In a very audible voice which made her voice resound all over the quiet hallway. Head Griffin carried on with her instructions tilting her head a bit upward. * Now you all would be having your first classes here, with your personal assigned letters in your hands. Stretch out your hands and meditate, picture your luggage while saying these words.! *
Afterwards she fell silent watching the freshmen present in the Hall of Grandeur. Though they were hesitant at first. Didn't she say she would be letting them settle into the academy? So why was she asking them to take their first class here!?. Seeing how serious the woman standing before them was, they had to think twice. Besides who would be resuming on their first day of school and be informed of a sudden test.!
They all held out their guides and began muttering the words she instructed them to. Soon the hall became noisy with lots of freshmen raising the chorus;
FIND AND SEEKING, LOCATE MY LUGGAGE
FIND AND SEEKING, LOCATE MY LUGGAGE
FIND AND SEEKING, LOCATE MY LUGGAGE
FIND AND SEEKING, LOCATE MY LUGGAGE .....
Accompanied with the resounding chorus in the hall was also a mixed atmosphere of excitement and frustration. With most of them being able to make the spell work for them and others can't.
The whole idea was to levitate the guide into the shape of an arrow and pinpoint the location of their luggage placed at their dorms. A few groups of students found the process to be somehow tricky. Head Griffin watched the pact of students who were able to make their guide levitate, into taking the shape of a paper aeroplane. Also looking beyond, she saw others with mixed feelings within them. * Now you all with your guides levitating, should head towards your dorm. The rest will carry on with making their guide levitate. * Head Griffin spoke with indifference exuding from her. She was clearly stern with them not giving an opportunity to see how much they would try to impress her.
Amongst the group of freshmen, a girl with red wavy hair; whose guide was already levitating, spoke up in an inquisitive tone.
* Ummm...how do I get this thing to find my dorm? * Her question caused a few reactions from fellow freshmen who had levitated their guide. Head Griffin spoke out in an authoritative tone.
* You simply say locate!. * in a serious tone before carrying on with her words, * When uttering the word, you must infuse your will into the guide shaped arrow. It must become your practical puppet! Carrying out your will. *
LOCATE......
LOCATE.....
LOCATE.....
LOCATE......
LOCATE......
Head Griffin watched a series of failed and successful trials, which the freshmen did in an attempt to make their guide move.
Amongst it all was still some group who hadn't even gotten their guide to levitate yet, which made them more frustrated.
