CHAPTER 47

"I have to meet with Ji Xiting for lunch." Cheng Xiao said in a low voice.

"You finally decided to talk to him." Shen Mu asked.

"Yes, I have to tell him one way or another." Cheng Xiao said with a sigh.

"Miss Cheng we are going to grab lunch." Jiang Chen said coming to Cheng Xiao's desk.

Cheng Xiao nodded and stood up as well, she went to the elevator with Shen Mu.

"See you!" Shen Mu waved and got in Hu Yiting's car.

Cheng Xiao took a taxi to the restaurant that she and Ji Xiting agree on meeting. Cheng Xiao walked in and told the waiter Ji Xiting's name, the waiter checked his clip and nodded and asked her to follow him.

She saw that Ji Xiting was seated already and went to him. She reached and Ji Xiting stood up and pulled out a chair for her to sit.

"It's hard to reach you." Ji Xiting said sitting down.

"Sorry!" Cheng Xiao said fixing her skirt.

"How are you?" Ji Xiting asked her, it had been almost a week since he last saw her.

"I'm fine and how are you?" She asked him.

"I'm good, just confused." He said looking directly at her.

"I'm sorry!" Cheng Xiao apologized again.

"Care to explain." Ji Xiting asked.

"I don't think we should see each other anymore." Cheng Xiao said getting straight to the point.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked raising his voice.

"Is it because of him, you said you quit working there. How come you are working there again?" He asked.

"Is he threatening you." He said and reached to hold her hand.

Cheng Xiao tried to pull her hands away, but he held them tight.

"Ji Xiting, I'm really sorry but I don't think that are right for each other." She said with an apologetic smile.

"Why? The last time we saw each other everything was fine I was even going to ask you to be girlfriend." He said holding her hands desperately.

"What a touching scene." Xu Kai's voice came from behind.

Cheng Xiao upon seeing Xu Kai tried to free her hands from Ji Xiting's hold. She looked at his face. She felt a shiver when his eyes turned to her, she could tell at glance that he was furious.

"This has nothing to do with you." Ji Xiting said to Xu Kai.

"Is it? It seems you didn't tell him." He said sarcastically looking at Cheng Xiao.

"Mr. Xu it's nothing." Cheng Xiao stood up and tried to pull Xu Kai with her,

"Cheng Xiao why are you leaving?" Ji Xiting asked and grabbed her hand to stop her from leaving.

"What right does he have that you just listen to whatever he says? I know that he is your boss, but he can't be involved in your personal life." He said trying to pull her to his side.

"Rights? Shouldn't you tell him about my rights." Xu Kai turned and said coldly looking at her.

"Xu Kai please, let's go." She said loosening her hand from Ji Xiting.

Ji Xiting looked at the way she pushed his hand away in shock. 

"You really have a nerve." Xu Kai said and grabbed Cheng Xiao by her arm.
