Xu Kai went to meet Hu Yiting for lunch. He got into his car and drove himself to their usual place. Xu Kai pulled up at the restaurant and gave the key for the valet to go and park the car. Hu Yiting was waiting in the private lounge when Xu Kai arrived. Xu Kai walked over and sat on the opposite side of him.

"I am surprised you wanted to see me." Hu Yiting spoke when Xu Kai sat down.

"Why? We used to eat lunch together back then when we were single." Xu kai replied.

"Once or twice, normally it was always you making an excuse just to eat with her." Hu Yiting replied back.

"Well, you can't blame me." Xu Kai replied shrugging his shoulders.

"How is the married life?" Hu Yiting asked looking at the menu.

"Hard!" Xu Kai replied with a sigh.

"That bad?" Hu Yiting asked again, and Xu Kai nodded.

"Who told you to marry her like that?" Hu Yiting questioned him.

"Do you think she would have agreed if I asked her up front?" Xu Kai asked.

"But it is okay we're getting there." Xu Kai replied.

"I heard you are dating her friend?" Xu Kai asked.

"Shen Mu? Yes!" Hu Yiting replied.

"I never thought that I would end up falling for her." Hu Yiting added with a smile on his face.

"What made you fall for her? I don't think I have ever asked." Xu Kai asked.

"I guess it was the day she ran into the hospital looking for her mother." Hu Yiting replied.

"Oh, I remember that day." Xu Kai spoke remembering that day.

"Cheng Xiao busted into the room saying her godmother was in an accident." Xu Kai replied.

Their food soon arrived, and they started eating.

"Oh, I almost forgot about that." Hu Yiting replied.

"I admire the friendship they both share." Hu Yiting spoke.

"I heard from Shen Mu that they have been friends since their diapers. Their mothers were friends first, then the fathers later became friends as well, meaning that they grew up together." Hu Yiting added.

"I see, makes sense why your girlfriend is protective of my wife." Xu Kai spoke.

"She has to, she was the one keeping Cheng Xiao when her family went through a tough time." Hu Yiting replied.

"Yes, about seven years ago Cheng Xiao's mother was battling with cancer, didn't you know?" Hu Yiting asked.

"No!" Xu Kai replied shaking his head.

"It's probably why she put off her dream and stayed as your secretary." Hu Yiting said.

Xu Kai was being reminded of the time when they had dinner at his house and his father asked her why she stayed as his secretary for seven years when she had designer's degree. Cheng Xiao had replied that the was a situation in her family that she had to deal with, but he never thought this was the situation.
