CHAPTER 98

Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao walked down the stairs and went to the dining room. They both sat down, and Mr. Wang started to bring the dishes out. They both ate in silence only talking when necessary.

Xu Kai's phone started ringing and the caller ID was none other than his grandfather. Xu Kai stood from his seat from his seat and went to answer the call.

"Grandfather!" He said when he picked the call.

"You brat, what is this that I am hearing?" His grandfather shouted on the phone. 

"What did you hear?" Xu Kai asked.

"Is it true that you went ahead and married a woman out of our class, and a secretary at that matter?" His grandfather asked.

"Yes grandfather!" Xu Kai replied.

"What were you thinking marrying a woman without even knowing her background. I will not allow a gold digger enter this house." His grandfather roared through the phone. 

"Grandfather I will bring her and introduce her to you very soon." Xu Kai spoke.

"No need, no matter what, I will not approve of her." His grandfather replied and cut the call off.

Xu Kai turned around and found Cheng Xiao standing at the entrance. Cheng Xiao just turned around and headed back inside. Xu Kai walked into their room and didn't see a sign of Cheng Xiao. Xu Kai walked around but still there was no sign, Xu Kai looked at the door leading to the balcony and found it open. 

Xu Kai walked to the balcony and found Cheng Xiao standing there looking at the stars in the sky. 

"This was the reason why I kept telling you to annul this so-called marriage." Cheng Xiao said her eyes still looking at the sky.

"My grandfather wants to meet you." Xu Kai spoke.

"Nothing will change, wherever I go, I will be called a gold digger. A seductress who seduced her boss to climb the social ladder." Cheng Xiao replied.

Cheng Xiao thought that maybe meeting Xu Kai's grandfather was better. After all he didn't like her because of her background, that meant that this charade could be put to rest. 

Cheng Xiao was going to find a way to make his grandfather hate her even more, then Xu Kai would not have any other choice but to divorce her. Later on, she would find some time and explain it to her parents.

"I guess I'll have to meet your grandfather." Cheng Xiao muttered with a smirk on her face.

Cheng Xiao turned around walked back inside the room and went underneath the covers. Xu Kai stayed out in the balcony for a little and thought of this meeting between his grandfather and Cheng Xiao.

After a while Xu Kai walked into the room and closed the door, he saw that Cheng Xiao had fallen asleep and entered the covers as well. Xu Kai pulled her body closer to him and wrapped his arms around her, his head snuggled into her neck, and he breathed in her sent before finding sleep.
