CHAPTER 99

The day came when they would announce the details of the competition the designing department were having. The head of the designing department walked in with a tablet in his hands.

"As you all know, today we are going to announce the details for the competition that will be held." He paused and looked at all of them.

"As you all know, our department cannot choose the winner as it would not be fair. Cheng Xiao, you are still new, so I don't know if you want to participate or not." He stopped and turned to look at her.

"I am fine, I can compete like the rest of them." Cheng Xiao replied.

"Okay then, you'll have a week to create your own design it can be anything. Earings, bracelets, necklaces, etc... but you only have a week to complete it. The deadline will be Friday at 8.am and then you will send your design via email, which will be sent to all the employees in the company, and as always it will be sent anonymously." He said announcing the details.

"Once the emails have been sent, you are not allowed to tell or hint to anyone what your design looks like to get more votes. As we all know the one with the majority votes win the competition and will receive front page with her design on, and the design will be produced as the new work of the month." He announced.

Once he went over all the rules, everyone was excited about the competition and some of them started to think what they would be their design. 

"Sir, what is the theme?" Someone asked.

"I didn't tell you guys the theme?" The head of the department asked, they all shook their heads.

"Well, I guess I am also thinking already what to design." He joked and they all laughed.

"Alright, the theme is nostalgic. You have to create a piece that when you see it, it can transport you back in time. You can use all the resources we have for whatever you will design." He spoke.

When he finished with all he had to say, he went to his office. Some of them went straight to the internet to begin with their research. Gu Xixi and her minions looked at Cheng Xiao in mockery.

"I guess people really don't give up until they see the coffin." Gu Xixi spoke in mockery.

"I guess so, what do you think she will design?" Her friends asked.

"Does she even how to even start. This competition seems to have lost its value this time." Another one said.

Cheng Xiao heard all they had to say, but she didn't even spare them a glance. Why would she waste her breath on them, it was not like they would believe anything she says. This competition was the only way to shut them up. 

Gu Xixi whose talent in designing was poor entered the group using her uncle's connection as the executive. In Gu Xixi's mind they were all inferior to her.
