Shame

Amelia looked at the three people in the room.

To her credit, she had her mother's calmness.

Her eyes went first to Leila. Since Silas started telling her about the supernatural world, she had developed a deeper aversion to Leila. Yet, that hatred was also tinged with jealousy because Silas drilled into her that she could not beat Leila.

At least, not yet.

The thought that Leila was superior to her was like a worm digging in her brain. She could not stand it. She could have been able to live with the fact that Leila was richer and more intelligent than her.

After all, those were things she got from stealing what did not belong to her.

Her wealth and property came from her grandparents and should have belonged to Amelia. Even though it was in Leila's hands now, Amelia felt like Leila was just a beggar who had a lucky life.

Therefore, it was easy for her to accept the loss.
