No one was having a worse day than Qiao Xi.
He had been blindsided by Teng Xiong, resulting in his right arm being severed—a permanent disability. Despite their access to extraordinary powers, limb regeneration was still out of reach. Qiao Xi's arm wouldn't be healing anytime soon.
Just when he had finally managed to eliminate the traitors from Plioya, he was suddenly blindsided again, this time by the leader of Zefraoce, leaving him gravely injured.
Qiao Xi was filled with a sense of injustice.
The rest of the Anti Jutrela Alliance was on the brink of madness. What was happening? Were they cursed? First, Plioya's betrayal, and now Zefraoce's?
Could the Alliance's reaction be toxic?
"I've never liked you lot. Zefraoce is the strongest nation in the world; we have no need to collaborate with you!" Pami, under the influence of Chen Guo, arrogantly declared, "Alone, I have the power to kill you all! Attack!"
With those words, Pami launched an assault on the other members of the Anti Jutrela Alliance, and those manipulated by Chen Guo joined in the attack.
"Despicable traitors, meet your end!"
With no other option, the members of the Anti Jutrela Alliance were forced into battle. Facing a threat to their lives, they couldn't just stand by as if nothing were happening.
The ensuing brutal conflict left Zefraoce decimated, and Pami was eventually overwhelmed and killed. The Anti Jutrela Alliance paid a steep price, losing over two hundred members, with nearly all others sustaining injuries.
The once 900-strong Alliance was now reduced to just over 500, their morale severely damaged.
Yet, Chen Guo wasn't satisfied. If these people dared to challenge Jutrela by forming the Anti Jutrela Alliance, then as a descendant of Jutrela, Chen Guo felt it was his duty to send them all to meet their maker, lest he dishonor his ancestors.
Meanwhile, Qiao Xi lay exhausted on a stretcher, having taken a large dose of thrombin pills, under the care of several Americkians.
These individuals were all deeply trusted by Qiao Xi.
Having been betrayed twice, Qiao Xi was left deeply scarred, unable to place his trust in anyone from other nations. Thus, he surrounded himself with his closest allies for protection.
As Qiao Xi reclined on the stretcher, he mused, "At least we still have over five hundred people. Our might far surpasses that of the Jutrelians!"
No sooner had he spoken than a dagger plunged into Qiao Xi's lower abdomen.
The assailant wielding the dagger was none other than Edward, one of Qiao Xi's inner circle.
The rest of Qiao Xi's loyalists quickly fended off Edward, yet Qiao Xi had once again fallen victim to a stealthy attack.
Gazing at his own intestines spilling out, Qiao Xi was overcome with tears.
Three times now!
This was the third ambush!
He had been betrayed yet again!
Why?
Was he somehow cursed by the Fates themselves?
"Edward, you were one of my most trusted. Why betray me? Why this treachery?" Qiao Xi, a strapping man with a thick beard, was on the brink of collapse, his voice breaking as he wiped away tears and demanded answers.
"Because I'm a spy placed by the Koreans, Qiao Xi! You're like a cat with nine lives, surviving three ambushes and still breathing!" Edward quickly retreated into the ranks of the Koreans. "Your resilience is something to behold!"
"Yes, Edward was my plant," declared Park Jimin, the Korean leader. "Korea has been plotting for ages. Now that A Mai'er's strength has waned, it's our time to ascend!"
"For the honor of our cosmic nation, slay them all!"
Unquestionably, Park Jimin and his Korean cohorts, including Edward, were all puppets manipulated by Chen Guo.
They launched a fearless assault on the Anti Jutrela Alliance.
The Alliance had no choice but to fight back.
What ensued was yet another gruesome bout of fratricide.
The Jutrelians had never witnessed such an enthralling saga, one that stretched the limits of their imagination.
This day was an eye-opener, a sharp lesson learned.
"Have they all lost their minds? What's with all this betrayal?"
"It's an endless cycle of bloodshed!"
"Is this the corruption of human nature or the collapse of morality? It seems that not even science can make sense of this madness, this frenzied internecine violence!"
The Jutrelians watched with a mix of glee and judgment as their adversaries turned on each other. They were all too happy to see the conflict escalate into a more vicious dogfight.
In the aftermath of a fierce battle, the Anti Jutrela Alliance was decimated, leaving only 300 survivors amid a field of corpses. Qiao Xi, betrayed by three successive stabs, lay dead, his eyes wide open in death's final stare.
But the ordeal was far from over.
Before the remnants of the Anti Jutrela Alliance could catch their breath, the Ushos betrayed them once more, plunging them into a fresh round of internecine violence. No sooner had they dealt with the Ushos than the Scauton and then the Ospium turned against them.
It was a relentless cycle of treachery and bloodshed.
Over an hour passed, and the Anti Jutrela Alliance, once numbering over 900, dwindled to just over 90 battered and bruised survivors. The relentless combat had taken its toll; even the strongest among them bore the marks of battle.
No further betrayals came, but there was little cause for celebration among the survivors. The presence of the Jutrelians loomed large in their minds, a stark reminder of their initial cause—the very reason they had formed the Anti Jutrela Alliance. But now, weakened and halved in number, they lacked the strength to challenge the Jutrela.
The Jutrelians, having observed the chaos from a distance, were energized and ready for action. They encircled the beleaguered alliance with a silent, ominous unity.
"The time has come to put an end to this charade and send these traitors to their doom," Chen Guo remarked to Wang Mingze. "They sought to harm us first, and though their reasons for turning on each other are unclear, it's only fitting that we draw the final stroke in their self-destruction."
"Let's move together and finish off these scoundrels!" Wang Mingze declared. "Consider it a mercy to end their suffering!"
