Why did Teng Xiong, our leader, suddenly launch a sneak attack on Qiao Xi, his own father?
How could Teng Xiong utter such shameless words, admitting he was a lapdog to the Jutrelians?
We Plioyains are a proud people, with a spirit akin to that of the samurai. Even if reduced to servitude, we would be dogs only to the A'mani, never to the Jutrelians.
The real question is, why did so many of our compatriots side with Teng Xiong, echoing his disgraceful rhetoric?
These questions swirled in the minds of the Plioyains, coalescing into a massive, unanswered question mark.
But they would receive no answers.
For at that moment, the rest of the Anti Jutrela Alliance had caught on, and hundreds had encircled the few dozen Plioyains.
A traitor is more despicable than an enemy!
"How could you Plioyains be so utterly shameless? I can't believe you would stoop to saying such disgraceful things!" Pami exclaimed, shocked. "Teng Xiong, I had thought too highly of you. I never imagined you were this kind of person!"
"Silence!" Teng Xiong, manipulated by Chen Guo, recklessly stoked the flames of hatred. "There's no one more vile than you!"
"Scoundrels, the Plioyains are insufferably arrogant, scoundrels!"
"Let's wipe out these Plioyains and show them the might of Zefraoce!"
Teng Xiong ranted like a man possessed, lashing out at the nations present:
"And you, Scauton, have been on a steady decline, yet you still fancy yourselves as an empire where the sun never sets. I say your sun has already set!"
"You, Ospium, no one can defeat you before you surrender because you capitulate too swiftly!"
"And Setheyso, you're nothing but a nation of thieves. Your flag is a stolen design featuring the Jutrelian Taoist Yin Yang Fish, your country's name pilfered from the Seven Warring States. Day in, day out, you claim every legacy as your own, as if all the world's renowned figures hail from Setheyso. You even dare to call yourselves a cosmic superpower. Have you no sense of decency left?"
Teng Xiong's tirade was relentless. If it were only him spouting such nonsense, one might simply dismiss him as deranged. But under Chen Guo's influence, many Plioyains were parroting Teng Xiong's vitriol.
Hatred had reached its boiling point.
"I can't stand this any longer, I'm going to kill them!" Qiao Xi roared in fury.
"Kill them! Before we take on the Jutrelians, let's eliminate these despicable traitors!" Pami commanded.
"Death to the Plioyains!"
"The Plioyains must die!"
Instead of targeting the Jutrelians, the Anti Jutrela Alliance turned their wrath upon the people of Plioya. Enraged, hundreds banded together to besiege the Plioyains.
Most Plioyains, not being under any control, remained level-headed. Yet, in the face of aggression, they were forced to defend themselves. Their counterattack branded them as traitors, exposing them to even harsher retribution.
The Plioyains were outnumbered and outmatched by the combined forces of the Anti Jutrela Alliance. Nonetheless, under Chen Guo's manipulation, Teng Xiong and his comrades fought back with a reckless abandon.
They exchanged blow for blow, refusing to dodge, opting instead for a head-on confrontation.
Thus, even as Plioyains fell one by one, the Anti Jutrela Alliance also suffered considerable losses, almost matching the Plioyains casualty for casualty.
For every Plioyain slain, an ally perished. Both sides were locked in a bitter struggle with no words left to exchange.
This spectacle of mutual destruction left the Jutrelians baffled.
"What's with these Plioyains? Have they lost their minds?"
"Should we assist the Plioyains? Didn't they claim to be our loyal followers?"
"What exactly is happening here? It's incomprehensible."
The Jutrelians debated amongst themselves, unable to fathom the Plioyains' motives.
Chen Guo remarked, "It's not often we see them tearing into each other. Let's just observe from the sidelines; there's no need to get involved."
Wang Mingze gave Chen Guo a knowing look, his suspicions confirmed. "Brother Lee Xiaoyao speaks the truth. We'll stand back and watch. If they're intent on a dog-eat-dog fight, then let them have at it."
The Jutrelians withdrew to a safe distance, leaving the battlefield to the feuding members of the Anti Jutrela Alliance.
At that moment, the Anti Jutrela Alliance and the Plioyains were locked in a fierce, life-or-death struggle. The battle was brutally intense.
"By the Heavenly Emperor!"
Some Plioyains, despite suffering grave injuries, resorted to biting their enemies' necks, killing them in a primal frenzy. Others, desperate to flee, found themselves trapped and were mercilessly hacked to pieces by their assailants.
The conflict raged for a grueling ten minutes before reaching its bloody conclusion. Dozens of Plioyains lay dead, Teng Xiong among them, their bodies strewn across the battlefield. The Anti Jutrela Alliance fared little better, with a heavy toll of their own dead.
Over a hundred more were left with injuries of varying severity. In the aftermath, the survivors from the Anti Jutrela Alliance gathered their composure, surveying the Plioyain corpses in a heavy silence.
"These Plioyains are nothing but fools, lunatics! They're utterly insane! It's a good thing they launched a premature ambush, revealing their true intentions. Had they betrayed us at a critical moment, our losses would have been catastrophic," Qiao Xi seethed, glaring at his severed arm. "To let them die so easily feels like we're letting them off the hook!"
In that moment, Chen Guo's eyes shimmered with bursts of purple light. Within seconds, he had harnessed his telepathic abilities to take control of Pami and a swath of Zefraoce nationals.
Pami crept up to Qiao Xi, whispering, "The Plioyains are despicable. We should reduce them to dust and scatter them to the winds... But as for you, it's time to die!"
Without warning, Pami's hand struck Qiao Xi's back with lethal force. Far stronger than Teng Xiong, Pami's ambush left Qiao Xi defenseless and reeling from the impact.
"Ah!" Qiao Xi crumpled to the ground, grievously wounded, his eyes filled with betrayal and fury as he confronted Pami. "Why, Pami? Why would you, of all people, betray me with a sneak attack? Is today the day I'm cursed with misfortune?"
Overwhelmed by a mix of sorrow and rage, Qiao Xi was on the verge of tears.
