Chen Guo had only a hazy recollection that the might of the Blood Tribe was tied to their noble titles—the higher the title, the greater their power.
A vampire nearby declared with arrogance, "Within the Blood Tribe, the odds of becoming a baron are one in ten thousand. A baron's prowess is akin to that of your human cultivators at the Foundation Stage! I doubt that your Blue Star even boasts a single expert of that level!"
Chen Guo quietly assessed the aura emanating from the Blood Tribe's leader, feeling fairly certain that his strength was on par with his, at the Foundation Stage. Yet, the true measure of their respective powers would only be revealed through combat, much like how no one anticipated Nanmu Rong's swift defeat by Bei Qifeng before the great battle at Shaoyu Mountain.
"So, you're saying you're not from Blue Star? Judging by your appearances, you must be from Northern Europe, correct?" Chen Guo inquired, probing for information.
He harbored a bold theory regarding the vampires' origins, yet confirmation hinged on their response.
The vampire retorted, "Humans? Who ever said we were human? We are the exalted Blood Tribe, inherently more noble, powerful, and civilized than you humans."
"We of the esteemed Blood Tribe are nothing like you humans. In our realm, humans are merely blood slaves, our sustenance. To put it plainly, you are our food."
"To us, you are no different than the poultry and fish you consume. Would you hold such creatures in high regard? Would you classify yourself among them?"
"Clearly, we are not from Blue Star. Your Blue Star is a tragic world devoid of any extraordinary powers, where all are mere mortals. In contrast, we hail from the Twilight World, the domain of the Blood Tribe, endowed with powers far surpassing your own—tenfold!"
"Before you even set foot in the Whole Heaven Battlefield, our Twilight World had long since entered. You are mere novices, trial challengers, while we have become seasoned veterans."
The vampire spoke with an air of superiority, but his words were laden with meaning, sending shockwaves through Zhou Tao and the others' minds.
Chen Guo had anticipated this and was hardly surprised. He had previously considered that within the vast expanse of the Whole Heaven Battlefield, Blue Star couldn't be the only world in play.
It appeared that these vampires hailed from a realm beyond Blue Star, known as the Twilight World.
Blue Star lacked any supernatural forces; it was a world governed purely by science and physics. In contrast, the Twilight World was under the sway of the Blood Tribe, a world imbued with extraordinary powers.
The adversaries from Twilight World inherently possessed greater extraordinary abilities than those from Blue Star. They had also entered the Whole Heaven Battlefield a month earlier and regarded humans in their world as mere sustenance, which explained their baffling sense of superiority.
They had stronger powers.
They were ahead in progress.
They had racial dominance.
With such overwhelming advantages, their audacity surpassed even that of the Yellow Flag.
"So, your world entered this place before ours, giving you a head start in accumulation. You consider yourselves veterans? That's quite intriguing!" Chen Guo remarked. "But our progress is not the same, and our worlds are entirely separate. How did you manage to come here? This hardly seems fair!"
Baron Lucar explained, "Let me enlighten you. True, the system's rules prevent our worlds from interacting. But as a world that's advanced further, we can monitor your progress and observe you in silence. That's the privilege of the experienced."
"The entity Ansu from your Little World is of use to our prince. Hence, our prince conjured our most powerful magic to create a portal and transported us here to claim Ansu's remains."
"We are resolute in securing Ansu's corpse. You must relinquish it!"
As Baron Lucar spoke, his vampire subordinates had already tactfully encircled Chen Guo and his companions.
With a single command from Baron Lucar, they would launch an assault on Chen Guo and his group, with lethal intent.
"Oh, I believe I'm beginning to grasp your origins and the root of your presumptuous arrogance," Chen Guo said. "But what if I refuse to surrender Ansu's corpse?"
"If you hand over Ansu's corpse, I'm in a benevolent mood today, and I might spare your lives," Baron Lucar offered. "I'll only take a third of your blood and mark you, making you my slaves. That way, you'll be allowed to survive."
"If you're unwilling to surrender Ansu's body, know that while system rules prevent me from obtaining Ansu's corpse by killing you, I have a myriad of ways to make you beg for death. I can ensure your suffering is ten thousand times worse than the grave itself!"
"Consider your options carefully!"
Baron Lucar's presence burst forth as he spoke, his aura assaulting Chen Guo and his companions.
While his aura left Chen Guo unaffected, it caused Zhou Tao and the others to shiver uncontrollably. This was the dominance of the strong over the weak, a clear display of racial oppression.
Surprised by Chen Guo's immunity to his aura, Baron Lucar remarked, "You do possess some strength, which explains your brazenness before me. You've piqued my interest. A fascinating human like you—I must have you as my slave!"
"An outsider, a seasoned member of the Blood Tribe, with formidable power... By all accounts, I should cower. But I'm known for my stubbornness. I'm curious about the flavor of vampire," Chen Guo said with a shrug, "Perhaps you've bitten off more than you can chew!"
"You're insane, utterly oblivious to your own mortality. Attack!" commanded Baron Lucar. "You strike first, and I'll back you up. Let's see what these humans are made of!"
No sooner had Lucar spoken than his four vampire subordinates prepared to strike.
But Chen Guo had already unleashed his Flying Thunder God Art, appearing instantly behind a Blood Tribe member and delivering a powerful hand seal straight to the vampire's heart.
Puff!
"You have slain Vampire Knight O'Brian, earning 20 Foundation Points!"
Chen Guo smirked, having assumed these boastful vampires would be formidable. Yet they couldn't even withstand a single strike from his hand seal.
How utterly disappointing!
"What? O'Brian was taken down instantly?!"
"Impossible, this can't be happening!"
"Is this some kind of illusion?"
The remaining three vampires, witnessing their ally's swift demise, began to question their very existence.
