Kissing

The car stopped at a high-class decorated clothing shop, the clothing shop employees seemed to know know Martin, as soon as they stepped out of the car, the shopkeepers gathered around, "Sir, what are you here to see today?"

"To choose a dress for this young lady beside me, oh yes, she is my date for my birthday party." Martin said to the shopkeepers.

The shop assistants heard him and immediately understood what he meant, "Yes Sir." the shop assistants led Martin and Emily to a room full of gorgeous gowns, the gowns were all placed in a regular manner in the glass case.

Emily looked around like a very curious person, looking at all these gowns that didn't belong to her world, only to feel that it was a dream, a gorgeous dream. It had come to pass, so why not enjoy it?

"Which one do you like?" Martin asked her, like a boyfriend asking his girlfriend who was torn between buying clothes.

"This one or this one?" Emily asked Martin as she picked carefully, pointing to two of the pieces.

"Well ... I think, that pink and white one." Martin held his chin and carefully helped her choose.

"Okay, then this one la."

Martin glanced at the shop assistant, who immediately took that dress for Emily.

Emily walked into the changing room with the clerk, and she just dutifully watched as the clerk put the gown on her, like she was enjoying the process, as she looked at herself in the huge mirror, dressed in a pink and white gown in style. The hem of the dress was like a dreamy cloud, layered with delicate textures of pink and white. The delicate embroidery on the upper body shimmered with a shimmering light, like a starry night. The pink ribbon around the waist gently girdles the slender waist, adding a little more elegance. The pearl inlays on the neckline, each one exuding a warm lustre, reflecting her beautiful face.

After changing clothes, the shopkeeper brought her to the dressing room, where several shopkeepers were busy combing her hair and applying make-up with the utmost comfort and gentleness. She looked at herself in the mirror, under the bright light, her lips were as delicate as cherries, and the colours of the eye shadow dyed on her eyelids, like a deep starry sky and a dreamy haze. The blush added a touch of pinkness to her cheeks, that was like the first blooming peach blossoms in spring.

When she finally finished her make-up, the moment she raised her eyes, it was as if time had stood still. Those curved willow eyebrows, bright eyes, a straight nose, and that delicate chin formed a beautiful face that made people unable to take their eyes off of it.

"Miss, you are so pretty." The clerk had to sigh in admiration, Emily's temperament was sweet and simple, and after applying her make-up, her warmth was even more pronounced.

The make-up and hairstyle were done very finely, Martin first watched from the sidelines, and after a while sat on the sofa in the corner and waited. It was only when the dusk sunlight poured down that it was over.

Martin, who was sitting on the sofa not far away, saw it was over there and stood up and walked towards Emily, "Emily, are you ready?"

Emily raised her head to look at him, Martin saw the current Emily, pink face and lips, like a lotus flower, his heartbeat missed half a beat, at the moment Emily took his hand, Martin couldn't help but blush, she was so pretty today.

Martin held her and walked slowly, the old mansion was in the farther outskirts, Martin helped her to get into the car, "Sleepy? You can sleep first." He said and took off his suit jacket and covered Emily's body.

"Hmm." After doing the make-up and hair for so long, she was indeed a bit sleepy, she closed her eyes and leaned against the backseat of the car, and fell into a shallow sleep, Martin heard her small but regular breathing, and he was busy saying softly to the driver, "Drive carefully, she's asleep."

"Yes, Young Master." The driver slowed down and the car drove slowly on the road.

Martin was afraid that she was uncomfortable, he leaned her head on his shoulder and gently patted her back.Emily gradually fell asleep, she had never slept so comfortably in a car before.

Emily remembered that was the first time she had a clear and impactful understanding of high society.

This time, the birthday party was no longer at the villa in the centre of A city, but at an old mansion in the suburbs.

Two formally dressed servants at the door opened the door for them, the grand entrance was in the European Baroque style, and there were two huge stone lions. After entering the door, into the eyes of a garden, the centre of the garden has a gorgeous fountain, the car and then slowly forward, Emily saw a splendid building like a castle, this should be his home.Emily then felt how low key Martin was beside them, Martin usually ate the most ordinary canteen in the school when he was with them, he would do his homework in the little corner of the library, he would come and set off fireworks for her on New Year's Eve.

Emily sat in the car and couldn't help but clench her fists, she was wearing a high fashion dress and high heels, wearing valuable jewellery, she was going to meet the richest people in A city, she had some regrets, it was as if she was intruding into a world that didn't belong to her at all, she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to cope with it.

Martin keenly sensed her nervousness, he gently stroked her head, and held her hand, gently said, "Emily, with me you don't have to do anything, hold my hand, don't worry."

Martin softly soothes her, Emily feels that only he can protect her in this strange world, she holds his hand back hard and nods.

The car stopped at the front gate of the old mansion and the driver opened the door for them, Martin got out first and helped Emily down. As Emily came down, Martin's mum was a little shocked that his son had actually brought a girl with him.

"My mother has seen you, she should be coming over soon, don't be afraid."

"Mmmmm."

There weren't many guests arriving yet, and she walked quickly over to them.

"Hello Auntie, I'm Martin's college mate." Emily did say hello first.

"I'm Martin's mother, welcome to Martin's birthday party."

Martin's mother smiled and looked Emily up and down, her tone was all polite, but her eyes were darkly contemptuous.

"Martin, it's your birthday party today, and I'm happy you invited your friends, but don't screw it up." Martin's mum stepped away from them on her heels.

"Come on, let's go inside." Martin took Emily's hand.

Emily breathed a long sigh of relief, wouldn't his mother be looking for a lot of trouble if she did get together with Martin later?

After entering, it was even more amazing for Emily to step into this luxurious mansion. Inside the hall, the sparkling crystal chandelier shines like a star, shedding a soft and bright light. The floor is paved with rare marble imported from Italy, the texture is like a natural painting, delicate and glossy, every step seems to be on top of art. The walls were hung with valuable art paintings, the whole space was noble and elegant.

"Young master, madam is calling you out to greet the guests." A maid came to Martin's side and said.

"Got it, I'll be right there."

Martin asked this maid to accompany Emily and left himself first.

"You take care of this young lady.Emily, I'll be right back."

Emily was a bit constricted, she always felt unsafe when Martin left.

This maid smiled at her in a friendly manner, "Miss, you are so good looking, are you the young master's girlfriend?" The maid looks similar to her in grade, the maid seems curious about her identity.

"No, I am not." Emily denied that she really wasn't.

"But you're the first girl that young master took the initiative to bring home." The maid chuckled again.

The first girl who took the initiative to bring home?Emily was a little shocked and happy, she smiled, looking at the high-profile and luxurious banquet parlour, she was the first girl he took the initiative to bring home, so one day, would she become the mistress of this place?Emily secretly clenched her fists, take a gamble, she told herself in her heart, she had come this far, so let's take a gamble, just in case the gamble is right? Gambling right, she herself will be the young mistress.

Thinking of this, she felt that she couldn't just sit there anymore, she had to show her face, she had to let all these people see her.

"Take me to the young master." Emily softly said to the maid beside her.

The maid hesitated for a moment, but still agreed, although the young master asked her to stay here with this young lady, but the young master seems to like this young lady so much, whatever the young lady does he will agree, right?

The maid helped Emily to Martin's side, who was talking with a group of young masters and young ladies, and when he saw Emily coming, he quickly held her hand and asked with concern: "What's wrong, Emily."

Emily purposely said to him as if she was pouting, "I still want to stay with you." Emily looked at him with watery eyes and Martin's face involuntarily reddened again when he heard what she said.

"Good, then you'll stay by my side." Martin's tone was full of doting.

The people around him looked and asked who Emily was, and Martin jumped ahead and answered, "She is my ... girlfriend." His eyes were firm as he took Emily's hand, "Her name is Emily."

Everyone present looked over, Martin has a girlfriend?

Emily was even more shocked, what? He actually announced that she was his girlfriend at his big birthday party? It was even more exciting than the imagined confession scene, her mind was now blank, Martin hadn't said beforehand that there would be this part, Emily's expression was now as shocked as those of the guests.

Martin's mum heard the commotion, she was after all a lady who had seen it all before and was dignified, she wasn't as shocked, she knew from the moment Martin had brought her to the old mansion that their relationship wasn't a simple one. She was open-minded, she clearly expected that Martin would not be able to talk to just one girlfriend, and until she found the perfect fiancée for her son, she allowed him the freedom to fall in love, and to show him how difficult it was to fall in love across class lines.

Martin's mum shook her tall glass of wine, her smile was so kind as she spoke to the guests beside her, "Children are free to fall in love, it's better for us grown-ups to stay out of it and just let them do what they want." Hearing this, the guests praised her for being an enlightened and kind mother.

"Martin, we've never heard you mention it before." One of the young masters joked, he looked like a fop, "My name is Yasmine, do you know each other, Miss Emily?"

Emily watched as he raised his glass to his face, Yasmine was trying to get her to drink, Emily was a little unsure whether to drink or not, Martin stopped it for her first, "Yasmine, you know what I dislike the most, Emily she doesn't drink." Martin's voice was different from the past, his tone was sharp and cold.

"Then Miss Emily, I'll be happy to reward you later." Yasmine raised an eyebrow and left with a sense of humour, he seemed to be afraid of Martin.

Emily then breathed a sigh of relief, she remembered again what he had just said, what was her status now, female companion or girlfriend? She glanced at the huge pendulum clock placed on the wall, it was getting late, and since it was a limited dinner party, why not enjoy it?

Emily stood firmly and confidently by Martin's side, graciously affirming that she was Martin's girlfriend, and followed him with drink after drink, but Martin never let her drink, and after a few rounds, Martin's face turned a little red.

The party suddenly quieted down, the lights suddenly shone only on the pure white flawless piano, "Let's have Young Master Martin and his dance partner present us a dance!"

"Dance? I don't know how." Emily whispered in Martin's ear.

Martin seemed to know this already as he smiled softly, "I told you that you don't have to worry about anything with me, trust me?"

Emily looked up and locked eyes with him, eventually Emily fell into his gentle eyes, "I believe."

Martin led him slowly to the centre of the dance floor where they danced to the soothing sounds of the piano, Emily was so nervous that she could only hear her heart beating. She looked at Martin and remembered all the times they had been together, she still thought it was a dream, she was the Cinderella who had to run away at midnight, Emily who had nothing, but she didn't realise that her eyes were already overflowing with love.

Martin also looked at her emotionally and whispered in her ear, "Promise me, Emily, we'll be together, okay?"

Emily was ticklish, she felt Martin's warm breath in her ear, his voice was sexy with a slight drunkenness and Emily's goosebumps spread all over her body at once. Was everything she had dreamed of actually about to come true?

"Do you really like me, or are you going to put on a show in front of everyone?" Emily confirmed to him.

"Emily, I love you." Martin barely hesitated.

"Is this a dream?"

Martin laughed at her words, "I'll take that as a yes."

The two were still dancing in the centre of the dance floor, while on the other side of the playground at University A, Hans was long drunk.

Sarah rushed over, she saw Hans sitting paralysed on the floor, beside him was a crate of beers, some empty, some only a little bit drunk before they were thrown aside.Sarah was a little angry to see him in this state, but more than anything she was worried.

"Hans, are you crazy? Don't you know that getting caught drinking at school is grounds for disciplinary action?" Sarah crouched down to help him up.

Hans didn't cooperate with her at all, "Don't move me."

Sarah was very confused, "What could have made you drink so much?Hans, I've never seen you like this before." She obediently sat down next to him and looked at him with a worried expression.

"Why did Martin invite Emily to his birthday party?" Hans asked.

"What else could it be, probably because he likes it, don't you see, Martin's always been nice to her." Sarah said as she rested her cheeks, "But why are you asking? Could it be that you're sad Martin didn't invite you?" Sarah looked at him.

"Martin is just better than me right?!" Hans voice suddenly got louder.

Sarah was a little taken aback as she mumbled, "Martin...Hans what do you mean? You ..."

Sarah said while her voice was getting smaller and smaller, "Okay, so, is that it, I know, I finally understand now ... "Sarah smiled mockingly.

"You like Emily, don't you?" Sarah didn't want to believe it, and her tone of voice as she asked Hans grew louder, as if she was questioning.

"Yeah, I just like her." The answer was expected, but Sarah still burst into tears the moment she heard it, the playground was dark and neither of them could see anyone's face.

"Was it that time you hugged her after the fight at the coffee shop, or was it when you went to the festival together like?" Sarah was so excited she practically yelled, asking him with red eyes.

"I knew her parents were divorced and the first time I held her, I wanted to protect her." Hans was already drunk, he spoke slowly like he was going to sleep.

Sarah was devastated that the person she liked was into her best friend. What about Emily, would she like Hans, she said she wanted to be Martin's girlfriend but she also said that she wouldn't really like Martin.

Sarah's mind was in turmoil, many things were rushing through her mind, Hans had said that he really had feelings for Emily after hugging her for the first time, so would Emily like Emily because of that hug as well.Sarah had thought that Hans would like her as well, so why did he have to explain it to himself that time after he talked about his girlfriend, and help himself out again?

"Hans, you're an arsehole!" Sarah's emotions came up all of a sudden, she couldn't help but slap Hans, Hans tilted his face up, one hand grabbed Sarah's hand that hit him, Hans finally woke up a little bit, he finally looked at Sarah sitting across from him crying her eyes out.

Hans felt like an arsehole himself, he had actually sensed all along that Sarah liked him. He looked at Sarah crying and was a little overwhelmed, he hurriedly dug in his pocket for paper and took it out to clumsily wipe Sarah's tears.

Sarah stood up and ducked away angrily, "Don't touch me!"

Hans saw this and also hurriedly stood up, "Sarah, I'm sorry, I think we're both a bit tired tonight, I'll take you home."

Sarah was in a rage, how could she possibly talk to him properly, "Get lost and don't stand next to me." Sarah ran off alone.

Hans just followed her behind, Sarah was sobbing as she walked, Hans didn't dare to go up to her and was always two metres away from her. Under a street lamp, Sarah couldn't help but sit down and cry, why did it have to be like this? Why is it that the person she likes is her best friend?Hans also wanted to comfort her, but he knew that no matter what he said now was useless, and he could only sit quietly by her side.Hans raised his head to look at the street lamps, which shook so much that he couldn't see, obviously it was only the first year, how could it be like this for the four of them?

Over at the old mansion, the birthday party was almost over, Martin's mum was busy mingling, Emily took advantage of the crowd and pulled Martin outside to sit on a bench in the garden where no one else was.

"Martin, are you okay? You're drunk." Emily looked at him worriedly.

Martin didn't make a sound, the blush on his face was obvious as he stared at Emily and in the next second, kissed her.

The strong temperature of alcohol hit her nose, the soft touch on her lips, Emily tensed her body, Martin kissed her? The kiss was like a slapdash kiss, just a moment, soon, Martin moved himself away and pulled away from Emily, a little headache from the drunkenness, he rubbed it with his hand, it was the sensation of an adult holding back on love, he actually wanted to go deeper but, his head was hurting.

Emily had a worried look on her face as she came up and said, "I'd better call someone." She stood up and was vigorously pulled back down again by Martin and sat on the bench, Emily leaning against his side with a red face.

"I'm fine, let's just sit here for a while." Martin pressed his face close to Emily's and Emily was too nervous to breathe.

"Like the house? If you like it, we'll come here often to look at the stars from now on, if you don't like it ... I'll buy it for you wherever you are, Emily, I haven't heard you say you like me yet." Martin said, his eyes looking at Emily again.

"What's wrong with you today ..." Emily was still embarrassed, she couldn't seem to say it.

"Emily ..." Martin called out to her again.

Emily was helpless, she cupped Martin's face with both hands and said in a serious manner, "I, like, Martin," the words fell and both of them laughed, "Satisfied now?"

Martin shook his head, "Can't get enough of you."

Martin hugged her close again and together they looked up at the stars, "Look, I used to look at the stars in the garden when I was a kid, my granddad bought me a huge telescope ..."

Emily quietly listened to him talk about his childhood, she listened attentively and was fascinated, she really wanted to see what Martin looked like when he was a child.

"Young master, young master!" That maid's voice suddenly came from behind them, "Young master, madam is looking for you everywhere."

"I know, I'll be right back." Martin promised.

As the two of them got up and prepared to leave, Martin's mother walked over, her face showing displeasure, "Martin, the guests are leaving and you're not going to see them off? You are the proprietor today."

Martin sounded a bit apologetic, "Mother, I was a bit drunk and came out to get some air, I didn't expect the guests to leave."

Martin's mother smiled and walked towards them, "You guys take the young master away first, I'll talk to Miss Emily alone."

"Mother, hey, mother ...," Martin was pulled away by the people brought along with Martin's mother.

Emily was a little fearfully, but politely greeted first, "Hello Auntie, what do you want to speak with me alone."

"I've seen many girls who are not happy after marrying high, sometimes, the gap between two people is not just about money, but also the values of the two people, when facing the junction of life, how will the two people choose, will the direction be the same, you guys are still involved in the world." Martin's mum smiled, she couldn't even figure out whether she was being sarcastic or talking to her.

"Girls, the most important thing is, get stronger on your own, you are the one you can always rely on. I also married Martin's father after I started from nothing and had a career of my own, if you really want to be with Martin, then first of all, you should be worthy." Martin's mum seemed to be coaching her, but then again, she seemed to be pushing her every step of the way, forcing her to give up.

Emily seemed to be out of control of her brain and actually nodded, "I know, Auntie, thank you."

"I'll arrange for a driver to take you back to school." Martin's mum was still smiling lightly.

Yes, two people can only go far if they are evenly matched, as if Martin's mother isn't that scary, Emily can't help but sigh that Martin's mother is really great.

"Actually madam she treats people quite well." The little maid said again beside Emily.

Emily couldn't help but feel funny how there was her everywhere.Emily got into the car Martin's mum had arranged for her and she messaged Martin: "Don't worry about me, auntie has arranged for a car to bring me back, she didn't give me a hard time. You're drunk, get some rest."

Emily looked at herself this dress, go back to change, then make plans to put, whether to return it, or ...

Walking down to the dormitory floor, Emily took her shoes off and held them in her hand, wrapping up her skirt and running up the stairs back to the dormitory.

"I'm home!" Emily shouted at the door.

But no one responded to her, Emily's smile suddenly dropped to her face, "What's going on, what's going on?" She asked as she walked into the dormitory.

Yun pulled her and pointed to Sarah, who was lying on the table motionless.Emily asked quietly, "What's wrong with Sarah?"

Isabella and Yun both shook their heads, Yun added, "Not sure what exactly, probably had a fight with Hans, I saw Hans following her when she came back."

Emily nodded, it turned out to be the time they were not there, the two of them made some kind of conflict.Emily walked over and deliberately teased Sarah, "Sarah ... "Emily didn't even finish her words, Sarah stood up from the stool. up, she took one of Emily's hands, "Do you know what we fought over?" Sarah's tone was strong.

Emily was a little confused, "Because of what?Sarah, you're hurting me."

"Because of you! Because of you, Emily. The festival was because of you, and this time it's because of you. Do you want to know why?Hans told me himself today that he likes you, do you get it now?!" Sarah shook her hand away, tears streaming down her face again involuntarily.

Emily was confused, sad and helpless when she heard it, she didn't know Hans would like her at all, and she didn't like Hans at all.She didn't understand why Sarah had to fight with her every time because of Hans.Emily obviously had a thousand words she wanted to say, but when it came to her mouth, she only had this one sentence: "Sarah, for the sake of a man, are you worth it? for a man?"
