Valmus didn't dare to underestimate the waters of the great Ocean and thus for half a month he trained with the trident and became as attuned to it as possible.
It was only after that did he dare to begin his ascent, he swam swiftly upwards parting away the heavy waters that could estimately weigh a few tens of tons.
Despite being within the waters for what would be two months and a week with some days, Valmus had never once felt the urge to eat at least in-game that is.
He was always full and sated, he wasn't sure if this was an effect if the Kraken's blood or the nature of the Great Ocean, it might as well be a mix of both.
'I surely hope its the former, if it's unfortunately the nature of the Great Ocean then I'm in deep shit.' He hoped since his already insane ascension would turn into a nightmare if it wasn't already.
Just Imagine a Vast Ocean that was so large that it took the whole east if an entire heaven for itself. A haven would be the size of Jupiter multiplied by a hundred, that's how large the great Ocean was.
Now with that in mind imagine that the said ocean had the ability to satiate all the living things within it's waters indiscriminately, that would imply that the waters of the great ocean do not need a food chain since there's no need to hunt or slaughter.
That'll mean that the population of the said waters was ever increasing since the expectancy rate far outclassed the death rate.
Now to add more dread to the already harrowing picture, the Great Ocean had an abundance of natural treasures this was something Valmus personally experienced during his short but prosperous stay.
This would mean that the marine beasts had an immensely large trove of resources that could and would help them ascend in power, this meant that even the weakest of creatures within the great Ocean were not cannon fodders but elites.
Once this train of thought fully settled in Valmus' mind, he was convinced that he had unruffled a deadly truth. Didn't this mean that the great ocean was an extremely dangerous zone filled with numerous immortal beasts, heck even having beast gods within the ocean wasn't an understatement but a pretty solid reality.
Valmus saw for days, he avoided crossing paths with the aquatic life forms to the beast of his ability after all based on his conclusion the marine beasts never preyed upon one another.
And in the situation where they fought it was usually due to territory or a natural resource, those types of battle never warranted death so it was safe to say that the marine beast would only react if challenged or crossed.
With this in mind, he stored away the Trident and hoped he wouldn't have to draw blood. Once he did the whole Ocean would surely know and he didn't want to know how they'll react in the slightest.
In a weeks time he crossed the abysmal darkness that was the heart of the ocean this was where the waters were beyond their extreme.
In another week he crossed the mist and fog that was above the oceans heart this was a weird place despite being called part of the ocean it could very well be called a separate space.
Ascending this part was rather troublesome since he couldn't conviniently swim in the normal way, here he had to follow the wave or in this case the breeze which would carry him upwards.
In another week he reached the third layer, this was a frozen mass of water, it was incomparably dense and cold to the point where most life unattuned to it's cold would surely perish.
Valmus nearly died a hundred times over just to descend, he couldn't help but tremble as he remembered his harrowing experience. Now however he was supposed to ascend it using the small creaks that were between the dense frosty ice.
He climbed gargantuan glacier, his fingers numb, his lips frozen and his skin covered in a layer of frost. He couldn't feel most of himself as he was barely being kept alive by the remnants of the krakens blood. But he climbed using his all, be it a hand, a foot or even his teeth.
It took his two weeks to fully transverse the gargantuan glacier but he made it nonetheless.
He continued his ascent passing rivers that flowed within the ocean, lakes of fresh waters buried beneath the salty expanse, mountains and hills, deep valleys and plains. The Ocean was like a whole world independent of the surface and with it's own ecosystem.
He however faced a problem that made him scowl deeply, up ahead were various swarms of fish which had already spotted him. Taking a detour would attract their attention, approaching them would also attract their attention, he was finally caught in between a rock and a rock.
He took a deep breath and continued his swim and soon enough he was face to face with a school of sword fishes. They stared at him briefly and intently before one of the said fish bubbled?
"What is an Atlantian doing so far from home?" Valmus heard, he could help but raise a brow. The fish clearly spoke in it's native language and yet he was able to understand it so clearly, what was happening? Did the kraken gift him one of his request earlier than promised?
'No she wouldn't, this must be something else an unknown factor. I can feel it, its ike it's in my blood... Blood?! That's it. Beasts pass on their memories through their bloodlines, did the krakens blood after continuous exposure consider me to be her descendant?' He mused but even if he could understand them, talking to them was another issue.
"I'm on journey of self, so the waters will lead me wherever I'm destined to go." He replied in his own native language while crossing his fingers inwardly hoping that whatever translated for him would do so again.
After a brief silence the sword fishes parted, and made way for him to pass. They did not say anything more after his reply and just let him be. Their thoughts were unknown to Valmus who was more than happy to just ascend.
"What an unlucky fellow, to be eyed upon by three immortal beasts and marked by another." The Swordfish mumbled as he led his school away from the beacon of bad luck.
After another full week Valmus finally reached the surface of the ocean, throughout the week he had sadly been forced to engage a few marine beasts. They were anything but easy but he prevailed until he left the embrace of the waters that he grown extremely fond of and stepped back on the shore of corpses.
He took a deep breathe of air and roared to the skies. He had finally made it back.
