As the commotion settled, Diana turned to Ezekiel and Leanne, her eyes shining with gratitude.

"Thank you... Both of you. I don't know how you did it, but you've given my mother a chance."

"I just wanted to help,"

Ezekiel smiled looking back at Diana.

Leanne nodded solemnly.

"I'm glad I could be of assistance, my lady. But..." she hesitated, glancing at Lady Ophelia.

"The poison hasn't been fully eradicated. We've only bought her some time."

Diana's face fell slightly, but she squared her shoulders, determination blazing in her eyes.

"Then we'll use that time. We'll find a cure, no matter what it takes."

As Diana began issuing orders to the servants and conferring with the doctor, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned to see my mother, her face etched with concern.

"Julian," she said softly, "are you alright? You look pale."

I nodded, trying to muster a smile.
