Chapter 52 - Meeting Lady Stokesworth

Lady Inggrid Winfried Stokesworth, also known as Baroness Stokesworth, was an elder lady in her forties. Upon her marriage with Baron Stokesworth, she was blessed with two boys, who had meanwhile grown into adults in their own rights.

Two years ago, the Baron and Baroness decided to live separately. Lady Inggrid Winfried, now known primarily as Baroness Stokesworth, remained in the Stokesworth family's London manor, while the Baron retreated to the ancestral Stokesworth Hall in the north.

The two sons, in order to ensure their parents' well-being in their twilight years, divided their time between the London manor and the ancestral hall. The Baron, already in his fifties, appeared to need their presence more readily. Baroness Stokesworth, however, seemed to thrive on a different kind of independence. Unfazed by the separation, she continued to grace balls and social events, either alone or amongst a circle of ladies in similarly dissolved marriages.
