Shouldered with the new responsibility of stewardess for the Earldom of Huntington, Maggie thus decided to relocate to Huntington Hall for the time being. Her husband, the Marquess of Canterbury, accompanied her on the day of her relocation.
"I will miss you," Percy said as they sat together in the carriage, heading to Huntington. "The whole mansion will."
Maggie placed her hand on top of Percy's and interlaced their fingers intimately.
"I will be back before you know it," she whispered. "Taking care of Huntington is the least I can do right now. My father's legacy deserves to be preserved. This land will remember the Earl of Huntington as a man of responsibility and meticulous leadership, and I will ensure it."
"I know you will. You should enjoy the last few weeks in Huntington Hall."
"Hmm..."
Percy blinked at Maggie.
"What is it? Is something on your mind?"
