Lich

"Are you the one who kills all my subordinates?"

The voice of the lich sounds like a blackboard getting scratched by a fork. Adam frowns as he looks at the lich's level. He doesn't know how strong a level 40 boss is but he sure hopes it will not be too hard.

Adam takes out his sword and summons his sword aura. He is ready to go all out this time just in case. As soon as he landed, he rushed toward the lich and swung his sword. Just as his sword aura is about to touch the lich, it disappears and his sword aura touches the ground. Adam frowns because this is the first time he fights against an enemy that can teleport. He looks around the area to find the lich when suddenly skeletons crawl out of the ground and some of them grab his legs.

"Trying to fight against me with numbers? Heh, you underestimating me."

Adam then summons 100 black skeletons to fight against the horde of lich's skeletons. If someone looks from a bird's eye, they will see a terrifying image of 100 black skeletons against thousands of white skeletons. The Lich's skeletons don't only have humanoid skeletons. They also have the skeletons of beasts and birds.

"Kill them all!"

With Adam's command, all the skeletons move and start swinging. Some of them use spells and some of them wrestle with the lich's army. Adam then flies around searching for the lich's location. 

Adam continues flying for some time but he frowns when he can't seem to find the Lich. Adam deduces that the Lich must still be here because his animated corpses are still moving and fighting against his army of skeletons. 

Suddenly, Adam senses a burst of energy appearing underground right below him. The ground starts to crack and a now deformed skeleton flies towards him. Black energy strands slither around it while it stares at Adam.

Adam isn't one to wait and see. He raises the earth around it, trapping it there. He then swings his sword with all his might, causing a burst of wind that follows the trajectory of his sword.

'Ding'

Adam is stunned to see that his sword didn't penetrate the neck of the lich but is instead blocked by the black energies. He tries to pull back his sword, but the black energies trap it and slowly swallow it. Adam releases his sword and retreats a few steps back. 

"Hey, that cost me a lot of silver!" As Adam screams at the lich, he summons more skeletons to hold the lich. 10 skeletons form and hold all of the lich's limbs and neck. Adam then held his palm towards the lich and energies started to swirl towards his palm.

"Let's see you swallow this asshole!" And with that, a beam of pure concentrated light element shoots toward the lich. The lich screeches and struggles to escape from the skeletons' hold. As the skeletons also hold the same physical characteristics as Adam's, they are invulnerable to light damage although they are creatures made out of darkness. On the plus side, the light beam didn't damage anything else except the lich and its army. All the trees and land around them are completely unaffected and even gain some blessings.

Adam continues to shoot the beam until a notification appears.

Adam is once again dumbfounded by the amount of experience he just gets. At this point, he might be able to slay the last boss or something in a few days. He doesn't get to celebrate, since suddenly sounds of galloping horses approach him. He disperses the skeletons and waits until the horses come near him.

Seeing a few knights with red rose emblem on their armour, Adam assumes this is the Red Rose Knight Order. The knights start to slow down as they see Adam standing alone in the middle of the woods. When they stop right in front of Adam, the leading knight, who is donned in full armour from bottom to top, gets down his/her horse and walks towards Adam. 

The leading knight reaches towards his/her helmet and lifts it to show a long blond hair that falls down her shoulder. She extends her hand and Adam also reaches out and shakes her hand. 

"Hello, sir. I am Annabeth, the brigade's general of Quizo Town. Am I right to assume that you are the one responsible for slaying the lich?"

"Correct. Will there be any problem?"

"No. Of course not. In fact, we would like to thank you and reward you for your service to the empire. The lich has been a significant headache to us with its unaccountable amount of undead army. Oh, before that. Would you please touch the orb? I'm sorry if this offends you but this is procedure." Another knight comes from behind her with the orb that he uses at the gate when he wants to enter Quizo.

"Of course. No worries." As Adam touches the orb, the knight looks at it weirdly and decides to ask. "Are you sure your level is 10, sir?" All the knights, including Annabeth, look at Adam like he just does something incomprehensible to them.

"Yes. Is there anything wrong?" Annabeth then looks at Adam and asks. " What is the level of the lich?" "40. Why?" The knights are too stunned to speak. Adam totally knows why they are freaking out. But who doesn't like to brag if they have the chance, right?

After the knights stare at him for some more time, Adam finally feels awkward and decides to break the silence. "So, may I know what is my reward?" Annabeth who is woken up by his voice immediately orders her subordinate to bring out the reward prepared for him. 

One of them comes forward and hands out a pouch of bags full of gold coins. At first, he thinks that there are at most 50 gold coins inside of it since it is so small. But colour him surprise when he gains a notification that he just received 1000 gold coins from that small pouch.

"What is that pouch? How can it hold so many coins with its size?" The knight that gives him says that the pouch is a magic pouch enchanted by an enchanter to be able to specifically hold a large amount of coins. It is mainly used by merchants who need to transfer large amounts of money when they are trading.

The knights then thank Adam again for his service and go back to the city. Just as Adam is about to count his loot, a game-wide notification appears.
