Chapter 40: Ning Rongrong sacrifice

Seeing Xiao Wu ruthlessly strike Tang San, Su Bai couldn't help but laugh.

Transforming back into his human form, he descended and embraced Xiao Wu.

With a smile, he said, "No need to be angry. They're just a bunch of clowns incapable of hurting me."

Blood spurted from Tang San's mouth.

Already grievously wounded by Xiao Wu, Tang San still tried to find reasons to forgive her. He believed Su Bai merely deceived Xiao Wu. Once he rescued her, she would naturally understand his good intentions.

But seeing Xiao Wu nestled obediently in Su Bai's arms, Tang San couldn't hold another mouthful of blood. This wasn't what he had imagined at all!

Xiao Wu showed no signs of being threatened. On the contrary, she looked utterly willing. Moreover, her eyes were fixed solely on Su Bai, never glancing at anyone else. Could it be that he and his destined goddess were fated to be apart?

Seeing Sword Douluo defeated, the Shrek group began to lose heart. With two mighty Titled Douluo defeated, what chance did they have? Only the foolish Tang San couldn't see the situation clearly and attempted to strike back. But with what? Does his ten-year third spirit ring? Wasn't he asking to be slaughtered?

"Let's go!"

Sword Douluo had no time to care about their thoughts. He only wanted to stall Su Bai, giving Bone Douluo a chance to escape with Ning Rongrong.

He let out a roar and charged at Su Bai. Gritting his teeth, Bone Douluo finally made a harsh decision. Grabbing Ning Rongrong, he prepared to use instant teleportation to escape.

Ha! As if Su Bai would let them succeed.

With a casual flick of his finger, Bone Douluo immediately sensed something was wrong. His spirit abilities had been sealed. His face turned pale. He realized that Su Bai had used some method to lock the space. Escape was impossible. This thought filled his mind.

Meanwhile, Sword Douluo had already reached Su Bai. With a mere gentle kick, Su Bai sent Sword Douluo flying. Already gravely injured, how could he pose any threat to Su Bai? Even uninjured, he would be no match. Now, it was hopeless.

"You old bastard!"

Bone Douluo quickly caught Sword Douluo. Stunned, Sword Douluo roared, "Why are you still here? Why haven't you taken Rongrong away?"

"I want to!"

Bone Douluo said bitterly, "But the space here is sealed. My teleportation ability won't work."

Sword Douluo was speechless. Seeing no other option, he resigned himself to the situation. He asked Su Bai directly, "What will it take for you to let us leave?"

They had no choice. The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan could not lose them. No matter what Su Bai demanded, they would agree. This time, they admitted defeat.

Moreover, it was clear from the start that Su Bai had no intention of killing them. Given his strength, if he genuinely wanted them dead, they wouldn't have lasted even one round. They had been arrogant, thinking Su Bai could be easily captured and used to enhance their clan's spirit abilities. Now, they realized how laughable their thoughts were. Such a being, and they dared provoke him?

If they could return time, they would refuse the Shrek group's request without hesitation. Even if Ning Rongrong asked personally, they would decline. But now, it was too late.

The Shrek group was stunned. They knew Sword and Bone Douluo had been utterly defeated. What price would they have to pay to leave?

There were no more girls here. No, there was one more. They turned their eyes to Ning Rongrong. Su Bai had previously wanted Ning Rongrong to stay, only letting her go because Zhu Zhuqing had threatened him. If Ning Rongrong stayed, they might still have a chance to leave.

Oh? Su Bai was a bit surprised by this scene. He thought they would struggle more, but they gave up so quickly. Without wasting words, he pointed at Ning Rongrong and said, "Leave Ning Rongrong, and you can go."

The Shrek group was delighted. They guessed right. This spirit beast was indeed lustful, having long had his eyes on Ning Rongrong.

"Impossible!"

"No way!"

Sword and Bone Douluo refused without hesitation. Apart from Ning Rongrong, even if Su Bai wanted all the assets of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, they would agree. As long as she was alive, they could rebuild. But Ning Rongrong was their future. How could they let her bear a spirit beast's child?

Ning Rongrong's face turned deathly pale. She couldn't believe that even with Sword and Bone Douluo, the outcome was the same. This time, there was no Zhu Zhuqing to save her.

Oscar was also dumbfounded. Though he had guessed Su Bai's intentions, hearing it aloud was still shocking. Ning Rongrong was his goddess. How could he accept her bearing a spirit beast's child? But as a mere Spirit Elder and support type at that, what could he do? Even the two Titled Douluo were defeated. What hope did he have?

"My Rongrong!"

Su Bai didn't bother with any further arguments. He fixed his gaze on Ning Rongrong and said coldly, "You stay, and I'll let them go. Refuse, and they die."

Ning Rongrong's pupils contracted. She could tell Su Bai wasn't joking. Yet, the thought of bearing a spirit beast's child was something she found hard to accept. On the other hand, there were her beloved grandfathers, Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. More importantly, the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan couldn't afford to lose them. Without these two elders, the clan could face destruction.

Taking a deep breath, Ning Rongrong made her decision. Though known as the Little Witch, she deeply valued her clan. It was her ancestors' and her father's life's work, along with the devotion of the two Douluo. They could not die.

Determined, Ning Rongrong's eyes hardened. She spoke firmly, "I will stay. Let them go. I hope you keep your word."

"Rongrong..."

"Grandfathers, there's no need to say more. The clan can survive without me, but not without you two. My mind is made up."

Hearing Ning Rongrong's words, Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo fell silent. She was right. The only way now was for them to return, bring Ning Fengzhi, and find a way to save her.

"We should heed Rongrong's words," Tang San advised. He needed to stay alive to grow stronger and seek revenge against Su Bai, reclaiming his goddess.

"Little San is right. For now, we must leave and plan how to rescue her," Yu Xiaogang agreed, eager to leave the difficult situation. With Liu Erlong refusing to leave, he saw no point in staying either.

Sword and Bone Douluo cast cold looks at them. Hypocrites. Why had they agreed to come in the first place? To help these people. Now, they were ready to sell them out to save themselves. Hypocrites!

Left with no choice, they prepared to leave. Ning Rongrong, standing alone, felt her face turn deathly pale, her mind going blank. Though she had decided, facing the reality was hard to accept.

But Su Bai cared little for her internal struggle. He led her to a cave-dwelling with a large bed and a bathtub. Ning Rongrong realized what awaited her, and fear gripped her heart.
