Chapter Twenty three

Sky Lark High was still drunk from the concert. Other than those who were super concentrated on exams (read none), majority had either come in to enjoy the concert or the party. Every one had turned into critic and giving marks for the music piece. As one of the performers, Sophia Hart turned into instant celebrity.

The questions they asked though...very weird. "Hey! Did you talk to Madame Lexia Windsor? Did you get a selfie? An autograph?"

"I heard certain Mr Roy had come for the concert? Did you talk to him?" "Did Mr and Mrs Davis really come to the concert? I didn't see them at party at all. But my cousin said they had come to the city for concert."

Not a single word about her performance. Not even a fake review. Sophia felt she was made up of air now. Later, she just wished she had turned invisible.

It all started because of Tanya Heinz. She was a problem child. Such a problem child that her parents had packed her and sent to another city, just to ensure they didn't suffer from her. So why parceling her off instead of home arrest, oops, home schooling? Well, she had a great backer. Her grandparents. Till they were alive and kicking, Tanya can be as much as a bad*ss she wants and she would suffer a token punishment. She was fair, slim and had such a fine pale hair that she looked like a Russian fairy tale princess.

Tanya was not egoistic about her looks. Only her background and money. She didn't even notice a herd of love sick boys trailed long behind her. No, she had her muse and she was only focused on him. Adam Arlov.

Adam can be a charming b*stard but she did not fall for his charm. Not for his face or even his talent in music. He had unwittingly saved her once in a party and since then, Tanya wore rose tinted glasses and considered he was a knight in shining armour.

Tanya had been so excited that Adam was coming to this city to perform that she started preparing herself a week before. Her dream got realised when she saw his performance, met him and talked to him a bit in the party. She was in cloud nine.

She was pulled down from there by a bunch of tone deaf immature kids ( read her classmates), who had compared Adam Arlov to only batchmate who had performed yesterday and found him severely lacking.

Now the general rule in Sky Lark High was that you don't mess with your batchmates. You can rag your juniors, but just little. Still, never mess with anyone in the school directly. But, Tanya was born to break the rules. The dainty fairy tale princess kicked *ss whenever she got angry. In one of the attempts to curtail her violent tendencies, her parents have even sent her to learn some self defense. The classes did help. From then, Tanya kicked more precisely and wounded even severely. So after a small break where all her classmates who had talked down on Adam Arlov had to take a small respite in medbay, Tanya focused on the real enemy - Sophia Hart.

A busybody had hid from Tanya and messaged his friend in Class D about this matter. Whole class D started boiling.

No. They didn't believe in Sophia. They were worried about their 'face'. They played tyrants elsewhere and they hated it, absolutely hated it when other played the same with them.

"How dare Tanya say that she will deal with you?"

"Yeah. What is she? A bl**dy queen? Why should we handover our classmate to her?"

"She is lame. So is her prince. Why should our baby suffer if the price turned out to be so lame?"

"Don't worry, Sophia. We are here. Tanya can't do anything to you."

Her classmates crowded around her as soon as Sophia came from her 'medical break', from music building.

She had gone there to see if there was actually an job vacancy in music department. After all, she had promised Solimo a job.

There was a vacancy. To tell the truth, that job would be vacant always. The job of introducing the self proclaimed future musical genius to the world of real music. Whoever took the job, quit within few days. The torture was too much for sensitive musician ears.

Sophia only remembered this because Shirley had been complaining about the lack of progress in her music class in school. She would always complain that the music teacher was absent, in leave or had left the job. She had even claimed that the reason why she didn't play piano at all was because of the attitude of the music teachers in the school. Never mind the fact that she mixed up C scale and D scale. Probably, she missed the class where the teacher taught about scales.

Coming back to the topic, Sophia was overwhelmed to say the least. She had been invisible as air in the morning and within the time she had gone and come back, she had become centre of attention.

All were pacifying her, rearing to fight on her behalf. Sophia had no clue on what was going on in this cacophony. Finally, after listening to assurance from her classmates, she fixed the puzzle. Tanya Heinz was getting ready to kick her down. Why? Some busybodies had compared her to her love , prince of piano, Adam Arlov and dissed him. Sophia did not understand how she was at fault here.

The class started soon and the students went to their place. Sophia turned into her digital textbook to read another textbook. She would have worry free period. Any attack would happen in lunch time. If she hid from Tanya, the battle could be postponed further. She really did not want this fight to happen. She could just imagine what her father would say. Probably, the older Harts would get involved in this matter too. Heinz family had deep roots in this city. Otherwise, the older Heinz couple would not have approved of Tanya staying in this city.
