Mobile Fuming Glare

Lily could almost imagine Ethan fuming into his mobile phone right now, his eyes glaring as if he would eat people. "I'm sorry, I have something temporary... I'll personally apologize to Miss Emily Prescott on another day," Lily said somewhat apologetically. I can't believe I ran out of the city alone and missed the interview with Emily Prescott. Ethan is going to be furious, she thought, knowing she was in the wrong for official business.

Ethan was silent on the other side of the phone. "Hello? Hello?" Lily glanced at the phone strangely. Why did the tyrant suddenly stop yelling? It's not like his temper, she wondered.

Ethan's cold voice demanded, "Hurry to the villa and wait for me!" Then he abruptly ended the call.

Lily looked at the darkened screen speechlessly. I swear, I really hate it when people hang up the phone first! Especially Ethan's overbearing tone every time he calls for favours. It makes me feel even more inferior, she thought, ignoring Ethan's anger.

Lily returned a call to her uncle, making up lies to round them off. Her uncle assumed she was out of town running the news and didn't suspect anything. As the sky grew darker, Lily realized she would have to stay at the kindergarten all night. She sat on the side of the steps and casually clicked on the text messages, only to find they were all from Ethan.

Damn Ethan, he didn't even let me go in my dreams. If this continues, I'll definitely get Ethan phobia, Lily thought, recalling the nightmare where Ethan burned the magazine.

Suddenly, the sound of sharp brakes rang out, and two headlights shot over strongly, shining on Lily. What kind of person comes to the kindergarten so late at night? she wondered, blocking her eyes with her hands.

As the car door opened, Ethan's long silhouette appeared in the glare. "No way..." Lily sucked in a mouthful of cold air. How could Ethan, who was far away in the city, appear here?

Ethan stared at her without saying a word. He unbuttoned his cufflinks, rolled up his sleeves, and pulled the heavy iron door, his eyes filled with annoyance. "Open the door," Ethan demanded, tugging at his tie and kicking the iron door with all his brute strength.

He couldn't have seen my text message and rushed over from the city on purpose, could he? Lily thought, glancing at the time on her mobile phone. Three hours had passed since she had sent the text message, confirming that Ethan had rushed to the kindergarten without stopping.

Ethan walked towards Lily in big steps, pinned Lily against the cool brick wall of the kindergarten. The tension between them hummed like a live wire. She could feel the hardness of his body pressed against her own soft curves. His steely gaze bore into her with an intensity that made her stomach clench with anticipation.

"Damn it, Lily," he growled low in his throat. "Do you have any idea what you're doing to me?" Ethan's hand moved down her side in a caress that left goosebumps in its wake, resting on her hip. His fingers dug into her flesh through the thin material of her dress.

After venting on her for a long time, Ethan carried Lily to the car, switching off the headlights and wanting her hard twice more. By the end, Lily's head had gone blank, but her body was enjoying the most primitive pleasure. I've never had another man, but I clearly know that Ethan must be an excellent bed partner, she admitted to herself.

Lily woke up, her naked body half lying on the leather chair, draped in Ethan's shirt. Ethan sat in the driver's seat with his chest bare, his deep eyes glaring at the front. It's ironic. I ran here to find Alex Carter, but instead, I ended up doing it with Ethan in front of my kindergarten. The man who came to save me was the one who raped me, the man I hated, Lily thought, realizing the absurdity of the situation.

"What are you running here for?" Ethan asked coldly.

"I came to set off fireworks," Lily replied hesitantly, pushing open the car door and running back to the classroom corner to retrieve a bag of fireworks.

As Lily approached Ethan with the fireworks, he leaned down to kiss her lips, his tongue flipping against her mouth. "You ran here to set off fireworks?" Ethan asked, looking at her as if she had a hole in her brain.

Lily lit the fireworks, and they watched the brilliant lustre blossom in the night sky. She squatted down, taking a few sparkler and handing them to Ethan. "Want to play?" she asked, forcing a smile.

Ethan stared deeply at her before taking the sparklers. Obviously red over the eyes but propped up a curved lone degree, the smile is not good at all. Why is she crying again? he wondered.

Lily turned around, holding a sparkler and writing something in the air. "What are you writing?" Ethan asked, frowning.

"I'm writing thank you," Lily smiled back at him. I obviously hated Ethan so much, but I was inexplicably moved when he appeared at the kindergarten. I wonder if it had been too long since I had been cared for? It seemed like I didn't loathe him that much anymore, she realized.

"So few strokes for thank you?" Ethan asked back with a disdainful face, making it clear that he didn't believe it, but the corners of his lips couldn't suppress a smile. Thanking me. These words were soothing coming from the mouth of the thousand-dollar lady who had to wipe her hands with paper towels when she had given me alms that day he thought.

"Er..." Lily couldn't think of anything to say to explain as the fire of the sparkle in her hand obliterated, and the fireworks faded into the night sky.
