Rising Power

The girl took a step back but the other girls held her by her arms and did not let her move easily.

What caught Ethan's eyes was that the girl tried to struggle till the end even when she knew she could not be saved.

Many were enjoying the scene, looking at her struggle. They have a smirk on their lips and a vicious grin. But even if someone pitied them, they did not dare to move.

Ethan leisurely walked toward them and stood beside the girl controlling all of them.

"Who is this right-hand man?" he asked in a soft voice. The girl asked.

"Ha! I am talking about Lord Gray. he would be here with his men any moment," she warned when she realized someone had approached them. She turned only to find a handsome man standing in front of her.

His bangs covered his forehead. His eyes looked sharp but full of laziness and sharp nose and pointed chin. The man looked more handsome than she had ever seen on the blue screen.

The way his lips curled, she blushed and smiled.

"You must be new here, mister. Who else did not know lord Gray?" she chirped in a sweet voice. "Spend the night with me and I will introduce you to them." she offered bluntly as she eyed his physique without feeling any shame.

Ethan chuckled. The woman was indeed a beauty. He would have taken the offer if his eyes had not been on the girl in the middle.

"But there is a problem!" he whispered, scratching his forehead and looking apologetic. "I have already decided that I want this girl in the middle." the woman frowned and tilted her head.

Her eyes fell on the two girls who were holding the young girl in their clutch.

"Which one?" She did not seem to mind that he had chosen the other girl, "number thirteen is better if you want many rounds. But if you prefer kinky stuff, number seventeen would be better." she winked at him.

Ethan looked at both girls when they eyed him back with a gleam in their eyes. Their chests swelled with confidence that they had gained the eyes of Ethan when it was their boss who wanted him.

The young girls were beautiful and full of vigor. They have charms that attract men toward them. But Ethan's eyes settled on the girl they held.

"You have misunderstood. I am talking about the girl in the middle." he pointed this time to avoid misunderstanding. It was not that Helen had misunderstood. She could not believe that he would court his death easily.

"Ha! I have given you the chance to save your life because I liked your face, mister. It would be such a waste if you die without having fun in your life." she shook her head giving him a look full of pity, "Now scram and I will forget what happened here. This lady here is being gracious by saving you." she offered again only to get a chuckle in return.

This time she frowned. Her eyes went sharp.

"What if the meaning of that atrocious laughter! Are you insulting us because you are so ignorant?" she warned in a voice full of malice. She looked around and soon a few men came forward. They did not attack but their presence was enough for man to take a step back.

Ethan looked at the seven men surrounding the girls now, looking at him. He could notice guns and daggers in the hands of men.

They all chuckled and the girl smirked with arrogance.

"I will still offer you a night with me." but this time, Ethan didn't even spare a glance at her. He was looking in the eyes of the young girl.

"What is your name?" He asked, ignoring the tension brewing in the air.

The girl blinked and looked around. She could feel all the eyes on her and it should scare her but when she met his eyes, she felt a strange confidence.

"My name is Marilyn. They call me Mary." she offered a nod ignoring that the girls dug their nails in her arms to stop her from speaking.

"I am Ethan. It is nice to meet you." the woman gritted her teeth.

"Hey! Are you in a garden, having a chat with a girl to woo her." she looked at the man and nodded. "Since you do not care about your life, do not blame me later." Ethan felt the thumping heart of many.

He heard the footsteps coming forward, fear tricking the face of the girl, and a smile brought to his lips.

At that moment, he only raised his hand and stopped the first man from holding his collar. He raised the man high in the air.

The eyes of everyone widened around him. You brat. Someone picked up a wooden stick and slammed it on his back. But their eyes widened when they saw the crack on the stick. He did not even flinch.

Ethan threw the man he was holding. The man winced and curled into the ball as he fell to the ground. He finally turned to meet the eyes of all of them.

The leisurely look on his face made many of them cough blood. But his eyes, cold and calculating, surveyed the group. Each man seemed to hesitate, exchanging uncertain glances. The girl, cowering in a corner, watched in a mix of awe and fear. The first attacker, still writhing on the ground, groaned as he clutched his side.

The man who had wielded the broken stick stared at Ethan, disbelief mingling with the growing fear on his face.

"Who the hell are you?" he muttered, backing away slightly.

Ethan tilted his head, the small smile never leaving his lips. "Only an admirer, I will leave as soon as you let the girl go with me.," he replied, his voice calm and almost casual. But they could not do that. The girl had been chosen by their boss.

They would die if they let her go.

Before anyone could react, Ethan moved. His movements were a blur, faster than any of them could follow. He spun around, delivering a powerful kick to the man on his left, sending him crashing into the other table. The sound of splintering wood echoed in the club. Women and men had already taken many steps away and now were hiding in the dim corners while looking at the scene with a thrilling gaze.

A new power was rising in the dark streets.
