Someone You Knew

"My lady, we have won! We can finally make it back to the palace!"

Ira nodded while holding back tears. She couldn't pretend to be happy that Zephyria destroyed Iskandria. Moreover, the reason why?

Ira lingered on this thought before coming to the conclusion that power is their primary goal. Zephyria, with its superior military might, had always been a threat to Iskandria's sovereignty.

Before Ira could linger any longer, the man grabbed her wrist gently while walking.

While walking, Ira could see plenty of other people walking alongside her. No, wait, it was more than plenty. Is this how many people came just to attack Iskandria?

Ira knew Iskandria's military wasn't good, but they remained on good political terms with every country, including Zephyria.

Iskandria was good, especially to Zephyria. The Iskandria knew they couldn't win a battle against Zephyria due to their strength and power; it outshines Iskandria greatly. If Zephyria was an ally to Iskandria, this would bring a huge advantage to Iskandria.

Zephyria was known for its godlike strength. Its army was ten times larger than an average army. The nation was only focused on striving to be the best of the best. If you weren't, then you might as well die.

Ira was acutely aware of the peril she was stepping into, venturing into a nation ruled by an iron-fisted dictator. Fear gripped her. How could she possibly survive in a place where even holding a sword was beyond her capabilities?

"E-everyone! The great Emperor Kaelin! He's ill! No, I think he's going to die!"

This statement made everyone panic. Their great Emperor was about to die? The man with godlike strength? Dying? What would become of their nation?

As the panic spread through the crowd, Ira pushed her way forward, desperate for a glimpse of the Emperor. And when she saw him, a wave of recognition and panic washed over her. She knew this man.
