NATHAN
It had been five hours of pacing back and forth. I had not been able to give Nicholas a definite answer and I could not leave without giving him one. Of all things he could have asked for, a large sum of money, land, car, any other thing that I could have been able to give him easily, he asked for a pack that was only mine by proxy. If he wanted that, he knew the person he ought to call for a meeting was my father and then challenge him to a fight. Whoever won the fight would earn the pack, which was the way it was in the books of old and that was the way it would go if anything were to happen.
