Cycle of a Tree

Chapter Eighty-Nine: Cycle of a Tree

Zenith successfully teleported to a different realm, one he knew his personal leech Escanor wouldn't follow him to. It was one he found himself.

He didn't know how to answer Escanor's question because there was a lot to it.

A Dark Mage becoming a Mage would need a Mage to vouch for them, and then the Dark Mage had to serve their time in prison or do community service.

It wasn't an easy or short journey and Escanor didn't have such patience. Zenith knew that if he told him honestly, it'd sound like he didn't want him choosing the right path. So avoiding the question was best.

Deep down, Zenith felt quite guilty because once again, he didn't help the young man set his path straight and left him in a dangerous place.

"And I thought I changed." He sighed while walking slowly around the dead realm.
