Chapter 19

After a warm and delicious dinner at the Great Hall, Headmaster Dumbledore stood up. "Ahem, can I have your attention?" said the wise and powerful wizard. This drew the attention of every student present. Minny and Chris looked at William worriedly, but William whispered to them to just wait and watch, and then he winked at them.

"A kind student of ours brought out a certain topic, much to everyone's interest," Dumbledore continued. "So, after a bit of discussion with the house heads, we have come to a decision."

The students were now in utter anticipation. But William was calm. He knew what type of decision the headmaster would make, but still, he was a bit excited. His friends were also in anticipation.

"From this day onwards, the first-year students..." Dumbledore paused to create a dramatic atmosphere. His eyes swept through the students. They were holding their breaths, while William just rolled his eyes at the theatrics. "Can take the tests for the Quidditch team," he finished.

Dumbledore's voice echoed through the hall. For a moment, the hall was silent before erupting into a loud storm of cheers. Everyone was delighted, especially the first years. Chris and Minny were stunned, their mouths hanging open. They both looked at William, who smugly smirked at them. But soon, his smug disappeared. Both of his friends were smiling at him sinisterly.

"It seems we have a lot to talk about," Chris said, gripping William's shoulder tightly.

"Damn it," William cursed inwardly.

Dumbledore, who was enjoying the smiles of the students, raised his hand. The entire hall went quiet once again. "Now then," he said, "those who will take the test can bring their broomsticks. But only those who pass can keep them. And the teams who have already taken the test can reschedule a new test for the first years," he finished and sat down, enjoying the happiness of the students.

William couldn't help but smile at the students as well. When he looked at Dumbledore, he saw the old wizard smile at him and nod. William nodded back. Soon, dinner came to an end and everyone went back to their rooms.

William was now being held by Minny and Chris. "So, William, I guess you have a lot to explain," said Chris.

Minny had her arms crossed. The two were really worried about William. But when they found out that William was just messing around with them, they were furious. After dinner, they took him to a corner, and now the situation had led to this.

William sighed. "I am sorry, guys. But what can I do? Professor McGonagall told me to keep it a secret," he said.

"What secret? And what did she even tell you in the first place?" asked Minny.

William told them everything. He explained how Madam Hooch was impressed by his performance in her class, how she, McGonagall, and Flitwick had offered him a position on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and how it had led to this situation. Chris and Minny had their jaws hanging. But soon, they came out of their daze and hugged William. They were happy that their friend thought so much about them and others. They were also glad that the situation wasn't as dire as they thought. After some time, they returned to their rooms for a good night's sleep.

The weekend arrived, meaning no classes today. William was currently in the Room of Requirement. After going through his daily exercises, he was now studying some very important books for a better understanding of magic, spells, and artifacts. Two weeks had gone by since he first appeared at Hogwarts. "Time really waits for nobody," he thought. He still remembered how he found this amazing place.

(Flashback)

It was during the first weekend. He had planned to explore the school. There were three places William wanted to find. The first was the secret passage which led to Hogsmeade. The passage's entrance was hidden in a statue of Gunhilda of Gorsemoor. After finding that place, William had an idea. He planned to use the passage to go to Hogsmeade and have some fun. Although it was risky, it would be worth it.

He then went to the kitchen. There, he saw the whole place filled with house-elves. The elves were just like the ones portrayed in the movies and books. When the elves saw William, they immediately went into servant mode. They overwhelmed him with their services. The food they prepared for him was beyond delicious. When he praised the little guys, they couldn't help but cry from happiness. William sighed at their cute attitude. After bidding the elves goodbye, he visited some more places. Some were amazing, and some were boring. After looking around for an hour, William finally found the Room of Requirement, the best place to be in Hogwarts.

The room was exactly as the information about it described. The room could change according to the requirement of the one who entered it. When William entered the room, he wanted a library. The room transformed into one. The only difference was that it was way bigger than Hogwarts's library. William was drooling seeing all those books in front of him. Soon he took a deep breath and dived into the vast sea of knowledge.

(Now)

William had around twenty books by his side. He selected them since he found them intriguing. Some of the books could be found in the library, but some couldn't. Some didn't even have names on the cover. The books were about potions, Animagus transformation, duels, charms, spells, artifacts, and more. Some were about wizarding law. One was also written by an Auror from the ministry about his experiences with dark wizards and creatures. The book he was reading right now was about magical artifacts, which also included broomsticks.

William then remembered something. This era didn't have brooms like the Nimbus 2000 or the Firebolt. If William could learn how to make magical brooms, he could open a company, sponsor his brooms, and become rich. Thinking about it, William had a devilish smile on his face. Soon, he engrossed himself in his studies and magical training.

William had created some spells of his own, such as "Aero Ascend," a spell to levitate objects smoothly, and "Lumino Scribe," a charm that allowed him to write in the air with light. He was also working on a spell he called "Aqua Shield," which would create a barrier of water to protect against fire and projectiles.

William also found Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem, which was actually a horcrux. William wanted to destroy it but couldn't for two reasons. First, to destroy a horcrux a special weapon was required like the basilisk's fang, the sword of Godric Gryffindor. The second problem was it will alert Voldemort and he might create more horcruxes than he originally made. So William refrained himself from destroying.

After practicing some more, his stomach growled. He left the Room of Requirement and went to the Great Hall for something to eat. The hall was buzzing with excitement as students discussed the upcoming Quidditch tests. William grabbed a plate of food and sat down with Chris and Minny, who were already eating.

"Ready for the Quidditch tests?" Chris asked with a grin.

"Definitely," William replied, his mind racing with thoughts of broomstick designs and magical artifacts.

As they ate, the conversation shifted to their studies and weekend plans. William shared his ideas about creating magical brooms, and Chris and Minny were intrigued.

"That sounds amazing, William! If you pull it off, you'll be famous," Minny said excitedly.

"Yeah, and rich too," Chris added with a laugh.

After finishing their meal, the trio decided to take a walk around the castle. They explored hidden corridors and secret passages, sharing stories and laughing together. William felt grateful for his friends and the adventures they shared.
