Shadows of The Past

I nodded, feeling the load of exhaustion settling over me. "Thank you, Nathan. I recognize the whole thing."

He walked me to a relaxed room with a gentle mattress, ensuring I was comfortable. "I'll be right outdoors in case you want anything," he stated, his voice complete with difficulty.

"Good night, Nathan," I whispered as he closed the door in the back of him.

As I lay down, the activities of the day swirled in my thoughts. I attempted to discover consolation in Nathan's phrases, but an experience of unease lingered. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and I drifted into a stressful sleep.

The dream started innocuously and efficiently, with me strolling through a peaceful meadow. The sun was shining, and the plants were in full bloom. But the tranquility quickly dissipated because the sky darkened, and an ominous presence approached.
