Chapter four

Saturday morning, Alessia and her friends, Sophia and Giada, arrived at the beach, excited for a day of sun and fun. As they set up their umbrella and towels, Alessia's son, Leonardo, ran ahead, eager to play in the waves.

Sofia watched him with a smile, "He's such a sweetie, Alessia! You're so lucky to have him."

Alessia beamed with pride, "I know, he's my world. And he's so wise beyond his years, sometimes I think he's an old soul."

Giada laughed, "That's because he has a great mom like you!"

As they chatted, Leonardo ran back to them, his eyes shining with excitement. "Mom, can I tell you something?"

Alessia smiled, "Of course, baby!"

Leonardo looked at her friends and said, "You know how sometimes we think we're stuck in the past? Like, we can't move on from something?"

Sophia and Giada exchanged a curious glance, intrigued by the young boy's words.

Alessia encouraged him, "Go on, Leo."

Leonardo continued, "Well, I think we just need to learn to let go, like the waves do. They come and go, but they always move forward. We should be like that too."

The three women stared at him in awe, impressed by his wisdom.

Sofia exclaimed, "Wow, Leonardo, you're so smart!"

Giada nodded, "He's absolutely right, Alessandria. We should all learn to let go like the waves."

Alessia hugged her son tight, "I'm so proud of you, Leo. You always amaze me."

As they spent the day soaking up the sun and playing in the waves, Alessia couldn't help but feel grateful for her little family and the joy they brought her.

After a morning at the beach, Alessia, Sofia, Giada, and Leonardo headed to the amusement park, eager for a day of thrills and laughter. As they walked through the gates, the ladies squealed with excitement, revisiting old times and sharing stories.

Leonardo, eager to explore, ran ahead, his eyes fixed on the colorful rides and games. "Mom, can I go on the rollercoaster? Pleeease?"

Alessia hesitated, "Honey, are you sure you're ready for that?"

Leonardo nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, Mom! I'm brave, I promise!"

Sofia and Giada chimed in, "We'll join him, Alessia! We can't let him show us up!"

Alessia laughed, "Okay, but you two are crazy!"

Leonardo grinned mischievously, "Great! Let's go on the scariest one - the Dragon's Den!"

The ladies exchanged nervous glances, but Leonardo's excitement was contagious. They reluctantly agreed, and Leonardo led them to the intimidating ride.

As they waited in line, Sofia whispered, "Alessia, are you sure this is a good idea?"

Alessia smiled, "We'll be fine. It's just a ride, right?"

But as they climbed into the seats and the safety bars came down, Alessia's doubts grew. The ride started, and they were plunged into darkness, the dragon's roar deafening. The ladies screamed as the ride twisted and turned, their hearts racing with fear.

Leonardo laughed, "This is awesome! Mom, you're screaming like a baby!"

Alessia playfully hit him on the arm, "Shut up, kiddo! This is terrifying!"

As the ride finally came to a stop, the ladies breathed a sigh of relief, their faces pale but their spirits high.

"I'll go use the restroom you all go on ahead." Alessia made her way to the restroom.

As Alessia exits the restroom, she's greeted by the dazzling sunlight and the sound of laughter and music. She takes a deep breath, feeling a bit more composed after freshening up. Her long, dark hair cascades down her back, and her fitted white dress accentuates her curves, drawing the attention of a group of young men nearby. They can't help but stare, their eyes fixed on her like magnets.

One of them, a tall, lanky guy with a messy mop of hair, takes a step forward, his eyes locked on hers. "Hey, you're looking stunning today," he says, his voice laced with a hint of arrogance. Alessia feels a shiver run down her spine as she tries to politely dismiss him, but he persists, his friends egging him on. She tries to navigate around them, but they block her path, their proximity making her feel trapped and uneasy.

"Excuse me "

His grin widened as he had his gaze fixed on her boobs.

"Not so fast doll am just starting to enjoy the view, why the rush."

Alessia's sharp tongue lashes out, "You're so blinded by your own arrogance, you can't even see the rejection standing right in front of you!" The group's laughter turns to shock, their faces reddening as their friend's pride takes a hit. He snarls, flipping a knife in his hand, "You seductive bitch, you think you're too good for us?"

Alessia turns to run, but his friends corner her. The leader sneers, "We'll have our fun, and then we'll make sure you never tempt anyone again." He leers, "That's what turns me on, your fear." They close in, their menacing laughter echoing through the air.

Just as all hope seems lost, two figures burst into the scene, tackling the group to the ground. Fists fly, grunts and groans fill the air as the two newcomers take down the assailants with swift efficiency.

As the dust settles, Alessia's eyes lock onto her rescuer - Fred, her ex's brother. They stare at each other in shock, frozen in time. The sound of her son's voice breaks the spell, "Mama!" Alessandro snaps back to reality, dashing towards her son's outstretched arms. She sweeps him up, her heart racing, and they quickly disappear into the crowd, leaving the chaos behind.
