Chapter 49: Death by Incineration

As he approached the location he saw a hole in the sky that was swirling, this hole was the exact copy of the one that occurred when his father had destroyed the lesser grail. And like that hole this one was also spewing curses but what attracted his attention was the girl floating in the radiance.

It was a naked Iliya, her powerless body was suspended in front of the hole in the eagle pose. Bellow her around an altar the priest was standing surrounded by the black mud seemingly unaffected by it.

"Koto… mine…!"

shouted shirou as he looked at the priest standing in front of the little girl and smiling like a creep. Widening his creepy smile the priest said sarcastically

"Welcome, Emiya Shirou. The last surviving Master."

"Hey. Didn't you hear me? I told you to let Ilya down then I can beat you up. What's so fun about torturing a kid?" asked shirou with his voice taking on an edge.

"I understand your feelings, but I cannot do that. The Holy Grail has appeared, but the void is yet unstable. My wish will not come true unless she bears this until she dies." said the man.

The two men continued their back and forth while the priest showed the respect and ability of a psychopath believing himself to be a servant of god. He attacked a boy the age of his daughter by controlling a group of black tentacles made from the cursed mud. As shirou dodges the track instinctively the priest said

"Oh. So this this black cursed mud must appear to be my wish to you. As expected from the son of Kiritsugu.I did not expect two generations to make the same mistake."

"There is no reason to explain things to someone who does not understand the Holy Grail and did I forgot to tell you, but you are already within my range.

"Plus this thing is sensitive to living beings. I do not mind you moving, but you will die if you move carelessly."

The priest kept up his mocking of the boy as he jumped left and right and then tried to parry the mud tentacles only to be thrown back multiple times. He screamed

"Damn you!.. fake priest…!"

"Oh.. you are ready to fight? This pleases me. I couldn't kill you if you were to run away. You have chosen to attack me hence it's not a problem anymore."

"I serve god hence I cannot kill someone who is pleading for their life."(A/N: is this mf serious><)

The number of tentacles continued to increase with time pushing back the brainless boy rushing forward without a plan. The smug and sarcastic voice of the priest echoed in this hellish environment

"It is only natural for you to be unable to win. There is a large difference in the years we have lived. It is a difference you cannot overcome unless you have something major."

The priest continued his theatrics by putting his hands towards the heavens as if conducting an orchestra and exclaimed with vigour as he glared towards the grail

"Put your life on the line shirou emiya. You might be able to reach me if you do so."

Shirou continues to struggle with the mud but he is surrounded by it and wherever the mud touches it burns his clothes and leaves nasty burns alongside curses. Struggling he was thrown to the spot where he ran towards the priest from beside the lake.

Breathing heavily shirou felt a snake of mud wrap around his lug and he jumped back letting it burn only his pants. Collecting his breath he rushed towards Kerei only to trip after 10 meters. the priest looked at the boy as if he was looking at trash and said with a sadistic smile

"Is that all? Tell me if you have given up."

Shirou tried to stand up but repeatedly fell because a large chunk of his left ankle was missing as it was dissolved by the mud. The black flaming mud ran down on his and slowly he was dawned while inhaling flames.

The mud began burning and dissolving his skin, and he felt himself being burnt and invaded by all manners of curses and he drowned in the hellish pain. This time the pain was beyond the limit of shirou who had endured multiple deaths, the death with his whole body being burnt while he felt more negative emotions due to the curses was too much.

Releasing screams filled with pain and despair shirou gained as his consciousness blurred and his vision was pulled into the void. This time even in the void he remained unconscious because his mind had closed itself as a self-protective measure.

Outside shirou released a heart-wrenching scream that was stopped by the bounded field of the room. Shirou`s body started sprouting blades but instead of straight like always. The blades grew like scales. The blades grew like this as if trying to protect Shirou's skin.

…..

Kiritsugu rushed into Shirou`s room and looking at the state of his son, controls Shirou's thrashing around. After shirou had calmed down he rushed to a clinic in the middle of the night and finally settled for using an illegal one to have shirou healed and his wounds stitched.

When the magus killer expected his con to wake up like always but even when noon came, Kiritsugu was getting worried so he took him to the hospital again and withstanding the torturous pain of using magecraft he was able to understand Shirou's body was severely tired and he was in some kind of shock.

He should wake up within 48 hours or else there are chances of him going into a coma. Hearing this kiritsugu was relieved instead of worried as the doctors described symptoms of a magus`s od being empty and shirou would likely wake up once he had recovered some mana.

Shirou woke up from his unconsciousness in the void, he didn't know he had fainted and his last memory was of colourful lights hence he assumed that his vision must have just ended. He waited to wake up but was swallowed by another swirl of lights.

This time he was greeted by the vision of a downcast wheat swaying in the field, he saw the blond boy sleeping in the stable beside a horse. The boy had spent the whole night taking care of a newborn foal.

The boy`s brother had then covered the boy with a blanket after he found him asleep near the horse. Looking at the sad and guilty expression of the knight named Kay, Shirou's speculation about the boy`s identity was bolstered.

He watched as the boy began taking care of the horses after waking up, he talked to the beast while combing its fur. When he reached his adoptive father`s horse Eto he started talking with the horse about her guardian a man named Hector.

He said how the older man claimed to be an unremarkable knight with no notable achievement in his name. he talked about how she thinks that this is all a ruse and that he must be someone of renown.

He then bragged about how he was able to push the old knight back during training last time and she spent the time like that, while leaving the horse she muttered about her wish

"I wish I could call him father but he was adamant about me not calling him that and calling him sir hector. I mean he had practically raised me."

The boy ran away towards the house and onto the guardian, there's a middle-aged man was wiping wooden swords with a cloth. This man was Hector the mentor as well as the guardian of the boy.

He loved the company of people and the hustle and bustle but had brought this modest farm and moved here to raise the boy. Why was this a problem shirou didn't know. shirou had learnt from the muttering and self-talk of the boy.

He had learnt that the boy felt guilty for making his teacher sacrifice so much for him but refused to show that to the man as a form of respecting his conviction and sacrifice. The boy and his mentor met and after greeting the older man the boy apologised for sleeping in and being late for their training as he scarfed down the bread from the plate.

After the morning snack, the book took a polished wooden sword from the bearded guff-looking knight and took a stance.

(A/N: you people don't know how much self-control it took me to not make snarky remarks about the dialogues of Gilgamesh and Kotomine. Idk why but arrogant behaviour like this gives me an uncontrollable urge to give replies like Archer.

I guess the next hard part will be when Atrum Galiesta is present. I love the unabridged version of the show that straight-up asked whether he had brain damage and I was like" Yeah most likely the current from the primeval battery has damaged his brain."

Anyway, we had the Japanese priest playing with little kids using tentacles, which was nothing new or sus at all. It happens everywhere.

And then we have the meeting with the wang warlock next chapter. Guys, I have a though

.... If he was sent to lotm world he would be fucking famous no, with the gender shenanigans there Merlin`s wang mancy would help a lot, especially to the demonesses.
