14: Pathway To Unfulfilled Power.

" Beginning initiation of the second phase."

" Go ahead with the procedure."

Inside a room with metallic walls and a marbled floor. Iron tubes stuck out from the wall and a huge amount of steam puffed out from one of them as it slowly opened up.

" Damnit, they're going to try and kill this time huh."

As he stared for one last time at the moonlight sky he couldn't help but thank the heavens for giving him such physical traits; had he been any similar to his father then he wasn't sure everything would have gone so smoothly for him.

The auction was finally over and done with and it all went down as he had planned, though it was only going to get tougher as things went on.

"Of course, I would be the next target; a rare specimen who possesses a trait the world has yet to witness."

His mouth and nose were covered with masks while his hands and legs were bound to the bed on which he lay.

Watching everything was a great pain for him but the exorcist spy network was one which he couldn't joke with; getting the job done as soon as possible was the priority but failing was one thing he couldn't afford.

Two days went by without there being any major troubles at the facility which he now found himself in but the stress being put on him was slowly getting less.

" Let's see; eight seven three one four spins. I'm sure that's the key to the lockout of this room." He thought, looking around the empty dimly lit room, " Memorizing can be really hard when you don't have a piece of paper to work with."

There was a camera situated somewhere in the room picking up every one of his actions and it was great that he knew the security post change time.

It was exactly what he was waiting for and he couldn't help but smile at himself for the clock which he happened to find hanging at the side of the wall.

Just as the right time came, he ran straight towards the door and input the same lock patterns which he just memorized.

" If I make it before they notice my disappearance then I'll be able to have made it far by then." He thought as the door slowly slid open.

A huge amount of steam shot out from the base of the door's frame and shot straight towards his face and into his nose.

"Cough_! Cough_!"

He had his hand over his mouth, coughing violently as he quickly dashed out of the room.

The people were so believing in their security that they never believed anyone would ever be able to break out of their room cellars.

He was a first and with that in mind, he knew that it would only be a matter of time before they would come chasing after him.

" Only fifty staff and couple that with their duty roles then their security should total only between twenty to thirty."

He was fast on his toes as he moved towards his destination.

Upon arriving at his desired place, he was stood opposite a metallic door that had the same lock mechanism at the center of the door.

He inputted the corresponding lock patterns and watched as the door slowly performed the very same reactions.

Without any ounce of hesitance, he dashed into the dark room bumping into and knocking down a ton of equipment as he moved towards his most desired treasure.

After struggling through many obstacles he finally managed to get to the switch and on the lights.

The room was filled with dust and it seemed that none of the equipment down there had been touched for a long time; the fact that the system heart remained down here was a clear depiction of how much negligence its worth was given.

" Well, I can't say I blame them. In its current state, the heart is the most useless of artifacts anyone could possibly get their hands on." He thought, continuing further down the room.

Another door stood in his way and as he opened up, he was welcomed by stairs leading into a pitch-dark room.

" Curse cores illumination, sure makes this look like a soul inheritance cabinet or something."

He nervously scratched the back of his head as he went deeper down the stairs. The room was dead silent with nothing but the noise created by crawling insects livening up the place.

There were many things scattered around the room; artifacts and equipment including Tier 1 and 2 weapons along with a few other things that they had deemed useless.

He continued forward towards the right and at the very end he found it; a red dim glowing crystal that had the shape of a half-broken heart.

" Great, that's one down, just need the second piece and I'll be good to go." He thought as he slowly bent down and picked up the artifact, "Now it's time I made preparations on how to get out of here before the exorcists arrive."

With his gaze traveling around the room one last time, he sprang into action and began gathering whatever valuable items he could find; weapons, armor, and other items.

While he was searching through everything, he happened to come across something he hadn't seen in a while; a talent book.

His eyes glistened as he slowly booked the piece of piled-up pieces of paper and opened it up. His eyes quickly ran through each of the pages and a white glow engulfed the book immediately after that.

" That was a restrictive class common talent book just now but my system absorbed it. I'm not sure I get it but it seems that my classlessness has freed me of certain restrictions."

His search priorities instantly changed and after the next few minutes, he couldn't help but smile at himself after looking at his system stats. The talent books were a gem that everyone at his stage would always dream of getting their hands on.

" That's the very reason why even I hated talent books when I first introduced them to the story. What's the point of having skills if you don't have adequate speed and strength to back it up?"

" Now then, I better start getting ready."

A few more minutes later he was dressed in a black outfit; a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black mask right over his mouth and nose.

With a pair of daggers sheated by the sides of his pants, he slowly made his way out of the room once more and it wasn't long before he was back in the building's hallway.

Just as he stepped out, a surge of golden chains went swimming towards him, covering him as they quickly made their way to pinning him to the ground.

" You seem pretty quick but too bad you chose the wrong time to cause us trouble."

He was able to pick the feminine voice that spoke as the chains quickly descended on him but he was quick enough to make a move and slide out of the way.

" These pants sure do their job well."

He couldn't help but smile as he quickly got on his feet once again; a battle lay before him and it was one he would have to win if he wanted to move forward.

" A restrictive class fighter with the specification of the Mystic binding chains. I know how much of a surprise it must have been for you but your evaluation of me is entirely up to you."

" Quit rambling and make this a whole lot easier for me while you still can." She warned, staring intently at him.

" And what if I don't intend to?"

As soon as he uttered those words, a couple of chains instantly rose right next to her all of the same golden colour.

" Fine then you brat, I guess we'll have it your way."
