15: Misevaluation. Who Said Classes Defined Ones Strength.

He smiled hard as he quickly charged towards her, his hands placed on the hilt of his daggers while they were still kept sheathed.

The chains that had surrounded her went straight for him as well, sweeping against the floor as they rose immediately as they were about to make contact with him.

He kept his breathing steady and maintained his composure as he bent his legs slightly and jumped high up towards the ceiling.

He performed a flip along the way and his boots emitted a slight purple glow as they stuck to the ceiling. He quickly ran forward after that, landing a few meters behind her.

Her widened slightly as she quickly turned around, releasing more chains around herself only to see a dozen oval-shaped metal objects flying towards her.

Instantly, she was enveloped by smoke, prompting her to release more chains around herself as an act of defense.

Pulling up the goggles that hung around his neck, he quickly wore them as he charged towards her once again. The chains although not as effective as a few visual classes were able to depict mystic energy around him.

He unsheathed his daggers as he ran forward, stomping his feet hard on the ground in an attempt to grab her attention.

Just as he ran around her, he saw the mystic energy being emitted by the chains as they all went sweeping towards him once again.

" Can't say it's her fault." He mumbled.

She had underestimated his speed up to that point in their fight due to him not showing his full extent even once. But that was what he wanted and the only ace he had against her.

[Skill: mystic surge now active]

[Skill: mystic dash successfully cast]

Mystic dash; is an active skill that allows him to dispell mystic energy at an extraordinary rate, boosting his physical capabilities for mere seconds while rapidly draining him of energy as well.

He dashed forward, slashing at the chains while moving at a marvelous rate. His hands moved rapidly, so much that all chains around him were chopped to pieces in mere seconds.

It wasn't long before he was able to cut through her defense and arrived right where she was. Not giving her a chance to react, he ran forward and around her.

All he did was bend down slightly before stabbing his right-handed dagger into her left thigh and drew the weapon upwards after that.

She let out a loud scream as the ensearing pain crippled her and sent her falling to the ground. He raised his left hand and stabbed her shoulder just before she could fall to the ground.

" Perhaps a vitality class would have suited you better, after all, wounds are still yet to magically heal even in a world such as this."

" Just what are you trying to say here?" He asked, reaching out her right hand in an attempt to get back up once again.

Leaving her to bleed out on the floor, he walked away, to where he had just come from, and came back out with a backpack strapped to his back.

He reached into it and brought a covered glass container that had a blue liquid contained in it. He walked towards her with the object firmly held in his hand and placed it in front of her.

She slowly turned her head, trying to look up at him from her current position but she wasn't able to catch a glimpse of his face.

" Feel free to make use of the potion once you manage to reach it. I hope to face you again someday."

Those were the last words she heard before the sound of his footsteps as he walked away became noticeable. Her senses slowly began to dull and she blacked out just as her fingertips met the potion before her.

*************

With his first obstacle out of his way, his search for a way out continued but he knew it wouldn't be easy to get out even if he was to find an exit.

Every state boost he used in his previous battle had a time limit and he would be as good as dead the moment it ran out.

After another few steps, he was standing before another door which he had only just managed to gain the required lock sequences to open.

Behind him were were two men in white robes all lying on the floor with their faces battered and bruised and their coats now washed in their blood.

" They should have talked when I gave them the chance to. Their actions are all questionable but sometimes the same situation is all it takes to understand the predicament. No test subject will be the same after what they've gone through for the past five to ten years." He said, slowly walking into the room.

The room gave off the same feeling he had when he was locked up in his room; dimly lit, white-painted walls and facilities which were placed around the victim lying on the bed.

She was strapped to the bed in the same manner as him; a significance that the men he just beat up were conducting a test on the poor soul.

It wasn't long before he tinkered with the equipment and freed her of the bondage she had been placed under.

" Cough_!"

She began to cough violently as she placed her hand over her lips while slowly getting up from the bed. Her gaze was still slightly blurry due to the subconscious state she had been in.

" Hey, you okay?" He asked, staring at her.

A clear view into her system stats was all it took to get a hold of his attention but he was also surprised that someone around the same age bracket as him was still yet to get an inherited weapon.

" I guess you must still be tired but we should get out of here immediately."

She rubbed her eyes a few times before she was able to get a clear view of the boy standing before her. Her eyes widened slightly and she stared at him for a while.

" Erm... who are you?"

" Your divine savior, but you can thank me later... after you have been saved."

She didn't understand what was happening or what he meant but based on what he said she had come to surmise that he must be another test subject who had come to help her get out of the place.

With a little bit of hesitance, she placed her feet on the ground and tried to stand up but ended up losing her balance as she quickly staggered forward.

He managed to get a hold of her in his arms and helped her stand up straight once again. Her legs were trembling greatly, prompting her to hold onto him once again.

" I'm sorry but I think I might be a bit low on energy." She apologized, staring blankly at the floor.

" I'll help you for the time being, just enough for you to get used to walking soon enough."

With that, they both walked out of the room together. Her current condition was something he hadn't expected and it seemed that his plans would have to slow down for the time being.

" Where are we going?" She asked as they approached another metal door.

" Just trust me, okay, we'll be out of here in no time I promise." He assured her, slowly unlocking the door.

" Hey, you! Stop immediately!"

" We've been caught." She said with a slight gasp.

Just as the door opened, he quickly pulled her along with him and they both went into the dimly lit room. The constant crackling of beasts livened up the place and made it feel eerie.

She held tighter onto him as they both continued forward, trying to keep her gaze off the caged curses that were staring at them with their glowing eyes.

The sound of one of the cells crackling as it slowly opened up and the loud thumps of footsteps came soon after that. She gripped tighter onto him and a great surge followed.

The wind force was tremendous and they were forcefully pulled away, along with the curse that had just been released.

A/N: This is my second longest chapter so far and might as well be the best one.

I have read some of my chapters and realized that it gets pretty confusing sometimes without info dumps to explain situations and the characters thoughts and I want to know your thoughts on that.

I hope I this book can grow with your aid and I promise to get better.

Cheers!
