16: Meeting The Protagonist For The First Time.

As the surge of air pulled them both away, he held onto the walls and his grip was great as well for some reason.

After waiting for a while, he let go and went flying straight through the dark tube that sent them to another space inside the building. The ride was tedious and bumpy but it wasn't long before they both went falling through the sky.

The huge puff of steam blinded their nose as they struggled to catch their breaths and just when their suffering seemed like it was about to stop, it only got worse.

*Squash*

Just as he landed with the girl safely held in his arms, the sound of something being crushed as dark red blood splattered on his legs and around the room.

" A curse?" He mumbled, quickly stepping away.

" Move." A mean masculine voice ordered, echoing throughout the room.

It instantly caught his attention and prompted him to look up straight to see a boy who seemed about the same age as him standing there. That was when he heard the puffing sound of the tubes once again and didn't anyone tell him what was about to happen?

He quickly stepped further away from the now disintegrated curse by his side and it wasn't long before another came falling just on top of the dead one.

" Follow orders quickly next time."

He heard a whisper and right after that, the dagger in his right hand went missing and the boy who was just standing before him suddenly vanished.

" What the-?" He said with a soft gasp, quickly turning around.

*Thud*

Just as he turned around, he heard a loud bang and saw the curse plastered into the wall his dagger now stabbed into its chest and its limbs bent in the worst ways possible.

" A beast curse with no attributes." He thought, backing further away.

The creature's body began to heal once more as it pulled itself out from the wall. It roared as it quickly charged straight towards him.

Just as the curse went charging towards him, black orbs appeared above him and instantly, black flying creatures emerged from within them. There were about five of them and they all instantly charged straight towards the other party.

Just as they were about to make contact loud bangs echoed throughout the entire room as the flying curses all instantly expanded and exploded along with their cores.

" Looking at him I only just realized what it means to be afraid of your own creation, I originally planned on ignoring him but knowing the plot then maybe it's best I lead him on the right path."

*Bang* *bang* *bang*

Before the curse could even do as much as swing its fist it was destroyed in seconds, and the young man was left huffing and panting as its core slowly rolled towards his feet.

" Phew-! That was the third one just now." He said, turning towards what had just arrived.

They both had their unwavering gazes on him and he could only read surprise from the state of their eyes.

" That expression on their faces- those two probably haven't been here for long. Tsk..." He said, slowly walking towards them, "How they even managed to get in here is what I'm trying to get my head around."

" The name's Nexus, might I know yours?" Nexus asked, politely offering his hand.

" Pfft, just as I thought you two are new here, aren't you? I'll tell you this in simple terms; death awaits you in the next two minutes if you don't have a solid plan on how to escape from this prison." He warned, staring intently at the both of them, " though the fact that you managed to come this far leaves me drowned in thought at the limit of your capabilities..."

He said, slowly diverting his gaze toward the room's exit, "All I need is a yes or no. Do you have a plan for how to get out of here..." He paused for a moment and watched as Nexus quickly nodded his head, "Very well, I'll look forward to hearing it but I guess there's something I'll have to deal with first."

With that the door to the room quickly opened and men all dressed in black suits came charging in with guns firmly held in their hands. Whatever their reason was was already known to them and it was the very reason why they all dreaded those very weapons.

" Get test subject number three immediately. Capture the other two, kill her if they are to retaliate but those two must be brought alive."

" Now things are starting to get interesting!" He thought as a smirk slowly crept up his face.

" You have three seconds to surrender."

The girl was trembling tremendously as she clung to him but the other two with her weren't doing anything and it didn't seem like they were able to comply. His composure was still fine-tuned; his heart was maintaining its rate from the moment they got there.

" Well then world's potential eleventh divine exorcist, I made the MC for a reason." He mumbled so silently that even she wasn't able to hear him.

With that, black orbs appeared around just like before and they continued to increase; revealing curses all of different shapes and sizes but they all seemed to be at the advanced stage.

" Seems like he's not here this time, well that's only less the trouble for me." The MC said with a mischievous smile on his face as he slowly held his right hand forward.

" He's retaliating!"

" Eliminate all the released curses immediately."

*Bang* *bang* *bang*

Just like his previous battle with the now-deceased curse, he expanded the beast and thus created an explosion right as the curses were about to make an impact with the guards. Their screams followed and nothing was left behind except them lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

" Well then you two, shall we get moving?"
