Chapter 306: The First Holy War Ends in a Comical Yet Terrifying Way!

The Sea Realm had been defeated.

With the fall of Nereus, he led the gods of the Sea Realm back into their domain, marking the end of the holy war.

The first holy war!

This war ended in a way that seemed almost comical, yet to the gods, the overwhelming feeling was not laughter, but fear.

Intense fear!

This wasn't the kind of fear that comes from a joke, but the kind born from cold, hard reality.

It was terrifying.

The relationship between the Underworld and the Sea Realm raised questions. Were the two realms secretly allied? Had they made some kind of deal? If so, what would the consequences be?

So many things!

A little reflection.

A little thought.

And it would fill anyone with dread. This was the scariest part!

However, no one knew the exact situation. No one knew what was really happening.

But one thing was clear: the future was fraught with danger. Even the slightest misstep could be fatal.

The conclusion of the first holy war signaled the arrival of a new era. But in this war that seemed like a farce, no one knew what had truly transpired.

What would the future hold?

Who could say?

And that was the scariest part—no one knew.

It was that very uncertainty that was most terrifying. Beneath the surface of this apparent comedy, who knew what was truly lurking?

As for the idea that it was simply a joke or a comedy? Don't kid yourself! Who would believe that? Everyone knew something far more sinister was hidden beneath it all.

If this were just a simple comedy, only a fool would believe it. The truth was that this war concealed horrors unimaginable.

Anyone with a shred of intelligence could see that.

Take a moment to think.

Take a moment to guess.

And you would understand just how terrifying it all was. This wasn't a joke. It never was.

This was the core of the issue. What would happen next?

That was the real question, and all the gods knew it.

The war was over, but the aftermath had only just begun.

The Underworld, the Sea Realm, and the Heavenly Realm.

This was the era of three god-kings reigning supreme.

In this era of the three ruling gods, what would happen next? Who could say what the future would bring?

Think it over.

Reflect on it carefully.

And naturally, you'd realize that the issues at hand were far too numerous and too terrifying to ignore.

Everything was always like this!

...

"It's over…"

Hemera let out a long breath, visibly exhausted.

This first holy war could only be described as a grand spectacle. But the more theatrical it seemed, the more cautious they had to be.

Who could predict if this play would follow its expected script?

That's why the gods of the Underworld, even though they had secured victory, remained vigilant throughout the entire process. They could not afford to be careless.

Who knew if the Heavenly or Sea Realms might suddenly come up with some wild, desperate strategy and strike back?

That would make things far too interesting.

Because of this, during this war, Hemera, though not the supreme commander, had been responsible for many tasks, and she dared not let her guard down.

Any carelessness could have been fatal!

"Hemera."

Keres and Carl, two gods of the Underworld, approached side by side.

Carl spoke softly, "Everything on our side is settled. The Sea Realm has fully retreated, and there are no traces of their presence left in the mortal world."

"Except for the Sea Emperor's Temple," Keres added.

The temples of the God-Kings—the Underworld Temple, the Sea Emperor's Temple, and the Heavenly Emperor's Temple—could not be removed.

It wasn't realistic.

Would they really erase every trace of the three God-Kings?

That would be laughable!

So, clearly, it was impossible.

Hemera smiled and nodded. "Everything is in order. For now, we can conclude things. Next, we need to prepare for what's to come…"

Her expression grew serious.

The real focus was on what came after. The Underworld's plans and preparations were never solely for this first holy war, but for what would follow: the apocalypse.

The apocalypse!!!

That was the true core of their strategy. If they could handle the aftermath well, the Underworld would achieve its greatest rise in power.

If the apocalypse failed, then the creation of a new world might slip from the Underworld's grasp.

The first holy war might have seemed like a joke.

But the second one?

That would be the real test of balance. Once Poseidon and Zeus realized what the Underworld had been up to, they wouldn't allow it to continue.

When that day came?

Heh...

They wouldn't tolerate it. And when that happens, enormous problems would arise, problems that would be impossible to ignore.

Once again, the Underworld was powerful, but if it had to face both the Sea Realm and the Heavenly Realm at once, it might not be enough.

And what's more!

When that time comes, it won't just be a simple two-against-one situation!
