Compared to the chaos in the Earth Realm, the Underworld remained peaceful.
Persephone and Hestia were busy addressing the issues with the races in the Underworld. As for the other gods of the Underworld, aside from training, they had no other tasks. Beyond that? Everything remained calm and stable, and the Underworld continued to operate at full speed.
This was the core truth!
And as for Hades.
The Lord of the Underworld had rarely left his domain. Aside from the first Holy War, Hades almost never left the Underworld.
But at this moment.
Hades was not in the Underworld, which made this a very intriguing situation.
To put it plainly!
A shut-in?
A recluse?
These words were not even enough to describe Hades. With his temperament, he completely disregarded anything that happened outside.
Whatever happened in the outside world—be it upheaval or chaos—Hades seemed entirely indifferent. Nothing that transpired seemed to concern him.
In Hades' eyes, none of it mattered.
After all!
No matter what happened, it would never affect the Underworld. Because of this, Hades saw no reason to leave. There was nothing that required his presence or involvement!
Moreover, his underworld gods were more than capable.
Hypnos and Thanatos managed affairs.
And there were Aither, Ker, Charon, and Moirae—four god-king level deities of the Underworld.
So?
Hades' pantheon was extremely well-structured, with a level of perfection that made any significant problems nearly impossible. It was this completeness that ensured everything ran smoothly.
Because of this, Hades was indifferent to almost everything, not paying attention to much.
In this situation.
Hades remained in his usual state of calm.
There was simply nothing for him to do but stay home and relax. There was no pressing matter that required his intervention.
However!
This time was different. For Hades, this task was something only he could do, something no other god could accomplish.
The Earth Realm!
Hades' figure walked across the earth, fading in and out, disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The Earth's Core!
Here.
A splendid group of temples stood, belonging to the goddess of the earth.
Ordinarily, this earth goddess was even more reclusive than Hades, rarely ever leaving the core of the earth.
But now things had changed.
The earth goddess was no longer in the Earth's Core, having left for reasons unknown. What she intended to do was a mystery, but it was certainly intriguing, as no one knew her plans.
For Hades, this was the perfect opportunity.
Or rather!
It was his only chance.
Hades had confidence, but confidence is not arrogance. He knew that if he were to face the earth goddess directly, defeat was certain.
No!
Not just defeat!
Certain death was a more likely outcome. Because of this, Hades was acutely aware of the situation.
If he wanted to seize the final world chain, then it had to be done while the earth goddess was absent. Alternatively, he would have to wait until he was strong enough to no longer fear her.
Only then could he take the last world chain.
But when would that time come?
No one knew!
Even Hades himself didn't know. He had full confidence that he could reach that point in the future, but how long would it take? That was uncertain.
No one could predict how long it would be or what the outcome would look like. Even Hades was unsure of the time it would take.
However!
Hades knew this was his only chance—the earth goddess would soon go to the Underworld and Tartarus to discuss something. Afterward, she would fall into a weakened state.
And that would be the perfect moment. During that time, Hades would have the best chance to take the final world chain.
"…"
Hades paused at the edge of the Earth's Core, silently observing the temple complex before him, lost in thought.
After a brief moment!
Hades dismissed his thoughts, keeping his calm, and took a step forward, entering the Earth's Core.
There was a barrier of divine power, but it seemed weakened to the extreme. As a result, it posed no hindrance to Hades' movements.
"The Earth Goddess…" Hades murmured softly, almost to himself. "You've weakened to such an extent that even your barriers offer no resistance."
Hades knew exactly what the earth goddess was doing.
Or rather!
Her actions were completely within his expectations, part of his calculations. He intended to take advantage of the earth goddess's current state.
To be precise!
…
Hades collected his thoughts and continued forward. Guided by the dark star, he soon arrived in front of a temple. He extended his hand.
In an instant.
The seal shattered.
The final world chain appeared before him. As the dark star completely devoured this last world chain, everything returned to tranquility.
And!
The dark star glowed brilliantly. With the complete consumption of all five world chains, it signaled that the chains had been fully absorbed by the dark star.
The Laws of Sealing!
The Laws of Devouring!
At this moment.
All the laws within the dark star had reached perfection, with no gaps or weaknesses. From this point forward, the dark star would continue to grow and perfect itself over time.
It would become increasingly powerful and flawless. Otherwise, if any law were left imperfect, it would create major problems.
Future progress would be almost impossible!
