[Miller Mansion]
"Everything seems to be fine now, so I suppose there won't be any need for more sessions," Sherlyn said as she and Erna settled on the couch across from each other.
Erna had purposely called Sherlyn over under the pretense of a check-up, but in truth, she wanted to meet with her—not as a doctor this time, but as family.
"I wasn't able to properly express my gratitude, Dr. Sherlyn. If not for your help, I might never have escaped that stagnant state."
For everyone else, it was just an accident that caused her to faint, but for Erna, it had been something far worse. She had been trapped in memories, reliving the pain of years past. Waking up had been difficult, but in the end, she did—finally uncovering the truth she had been desperately searching for.
"You really scared all of us, Mrs. Miller."
"Erna," she corrected gently. "You can call me by my name. Now that we're family, formality isn't necessary."
