Flight

I climbed out of bed, my eyes searching the area around me. My eyes adjusting to the unfamiliar light quickly. I climbed out of bed, sighing to myself.

'Morning, Michiko.'

Morning, Yuna.

After that, I moved forwards.

Right, I should begin training today, I wonder if father would be up to training me again, no, I should get stronger by myself for now.

With that concluded I walked into the Kitchen, seeing mother working already.

"Morning, Mother."

"Morning, Betrae, you sleep well?"

"Yeah." I looked up at her as I spoke. "What are you making?"

"Same as normal, a breakfast fit for a Saiyan." I simply nodded my head, and looked away. Getting onto the table in a short leap up.

Yeah I could do that instead of being picked up and put on the chair.

"Hey mother, where are the training grounds?"

"Training grounds? Oh your father will take you there later, he wants to tech you flight."

And my plans have already been derailed, but training with father will bring about some benefits that I can't get by training alone.

The next few minutes were spent in tranquil silence, the sound of mother cooking, of the small sound of my breathing and the thoughts I had, being the only things I can hear.

I have to get stronger than Frieza is, that was a given considering the circumstances. But when do I have to actually be that strong? I mean, I can't just decide when Frieza destroys Vegeta and it might happen earlier than canon, at most I have until Kakarot is born and at least a few years after Raditz, but then what if Raditz isn't even born in this timeline?

Who's to say I haven't taken his place?

Okay that's a stupid thought, I'm not in Raditz's body therefore he will probably be born in this timeline but a new question remains.

What if Raditz's birth is on the same day Planet Vegeta is to be destroyed?

A sound of a dish being placed in front of me snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Thanks."

I stated as I began to eat the breakfast, which is just meat, strangely coloured vegetables and fruits. To be honest, the food was delicious, or it might have been because I'm used to bland foods because of White Room.

And the food was massive, because Saiyans eat, a lot. Like a ridiculous amount of food. Now I have that trait.

Saiyans metabolism must be far different compared to humans, then again the humans eat a lot themselves, then again that can be accounted for how much they train. Professional athletes eat a large amount of food simply because they burn those calories in the hours of training they do, if they didn't they might be underweight.

Athletes with intense training schedules may requires 80 calories per kilogram of body weight per day. To put that in perspective, a 90-kilogram athlete, roughly 200 pounds, could potentially have to eat up to 7,200 calories every day.

The average man requires 2500 calories a day, and can fluctuate based on activity level, age, and weight, obviously being underweight means slightly more, and overweight means less.

And for people trying to lose weight based on exercise and activity level, sometimes they see no weight loss because that fat was replaced by muscle mass due to the way it works.

After eating, I left the seat, as father entered the room.

"Morning father."

"Morning, Betrae."

A quick greeting was all that was needed.

"Mother told me about the training about flight today."

"Good, go get ready, I'll join you after breakfast."

I nodded my head leaving the area to get ready for the training.

50 minutes later, father and I were at the field.

The field itself wasn't anything special, boulders, rocks and other things were littered about the wasteland. That was the best way to describe it.

"Alright Betrae, this is simple, and is innate within Saiyans. Just focus your Ki to the soles of your feet and just lift yourself off of the ground using it and only it."

I closed my eyes, doing what father spoke, taking a small droplet of Ki at first and forcing it from the soles of my feet. Slowly I willed myself into the sky, instinctually lifting myself into the air, although somewhat straining to do. I was now hovering at least 8 feet off of the ground.

"Hmm, that was easy." I mumbled under my breath.

It sounds idiotic but learning to fly was simple. You don't know how? Just lift yourself into the air. That's what I was doing, like describing how to walk, put one leg in front of the other. It explains the process but not the details of how it works.

The process of your muscles contracting, bending the knee whilst balancing your body so you don't fall over. That wasn't something one needed to explain, an individual could just do it.

A baby would try and say your a horrible teacher, someone without legs might also say that, but even then, a baby would learn it for themselves. Though for that baby they would still have undeveloped muscles.

"Of course it was Betrae, anyways try getting used to flying."

Anyways, feeling the energy surrounding me as it went from my feet to all around me holding me up was an odd feeling. One that was alike a forcefield holding my body up, though without pulling me like I was inside something. It felt almost natural, like moving my arms, it wasn't a pulling sensation in my bones. I also flied faster as I increased the Ki output as I found out.

I intended to move further upwards, and thus I did. I deduced that with intent I could choose the direction, thus I began to fly around all around in a gyroscopic manner.

I liked this feeling, flying around and simply enjoying the freedom that comes with it. Truly it was freeing. I began to shadowbox in the air, with various martial arts I've learned in my time. It was simply because I needed to relearn the movements and fit them in with my new body.

As for the Shadow Boxing itself, I was facing one of my old instructors back in the White Room. I had their movements adapted to flight based combat to help me with my own. Since my own mind could figure out how it all worked.

I blocked a strike, and countered, blocked, countered, dodged, countered. All of this was done with the idea that I grew in my skills in fighting. A low kick, to a high kick. A palm strike blocked.

It all worked well. I adapted to combat in the air, quickly, perhaps due to this body being one of a warriors by nature, it was innate within me to become a great warrior. Thus I would.

Of course nothing else mattered except my training right now. After a while I decided to start using Ki, in all forms.

Wind coated the palm of my hand in a revolving blade of wind that slammed into a rock in front of me, breaking it apart with a massive shockwave. Shining Star was used and Shining Cannon was too as I kept training my Ki. Eventually after 30 minutes passed I began to train my physical stats.

For Constitution, that would be training my Dexterity and Strength, or involve being hit a bunch or eating healthily. And in general requiring a good lifestyle that involves bathing as well.

Fun fact, Saiyans do have showers. So that will gradually go up.

Training my dexterity could be done by my training from earlier fit, but I could run as well to do it. So that would increase naturally.

And so would strength to a lesser extent since I wasn't focused on powerful punches of brute strength but powerful punches of tactical hits.

I got on the ground and began to do push ups. My goal was to see how many I could do.

So I counted from 1, 2, 3 and so on. 4 hours passed by before I finally stopped. 45000 push ups, and yes I counted all of that. Either way, after I stopped training I relaxed. Taking the time to breath in and out through my nose.

Breathing through one's nose is crucial to delivering peak physical performance. The simplest reasons as to why is that breathing through the nose delivers optimal oxygen delivery and efficient oxygen usage.

Nose breathing allows you to perform physical tasks using less oxygen. When you breathe through your nose, you don't need to inhale as much air to meet the demands of exercise itself. Your nose filters out dust, allergens, and pollen, preventing them from entering your lungs. Although the important part is that it warms and moisturizes the air you breathe, making it easier for your lungs to use. This filtering and humidification process enhances overall respiratory efficiency. Nasal breathing triggers the release of nitric oxide which is NO. NO is a vasodilator, widening blood vessels and improving oxygen circulation in your body. This can benefit the working muscles during physical activity.

In general breathing through one's nose is far better than breathing through the mouth.

I took a moment to focus and close my eyes. The stats I had just gained finally appearing.

DEX has increased by 5 points, DEX rank increased. STR has increased by 6 points, STR rank increased. Constitution has increased by 3 points. Ki Control has increased by 1 point.

Ranking a stat up means nothing, no major increase in power level, all it does is add a little /1 to the stat number. Like DEX would be at 1/1 right now. And STR at 2/1. Constitution is the only stat yet to be ranked up though.

Man I am hungry.

I thought to myself and got up off of the floor. It's time to head home, then.

And so, I left, heading home.
